Quote:Since you chose to jump into the middle of someone else's conversation, what we were discussing and comparing how he missed the Geno with our first round pick last year.  I said he wasn't worth it, but was with our second.  Flash forward to 2014, and I'm suggesting he's overvaluing a QB once again.

Sorry to burst your assumptive bubble.

Whoa, cowboy.  If you don't want your conversation shared by others, don't post on the PUBLIC message board.  Carry it out over PM.

At any rate, thanks for clarifying.  I remember the Geno thread; from context, based on Simms' opinion, it seemed like you were talking about ability and not draft value.

I thought the same thing.

Quote:It's very arguable... Geno had much bigger performances, especially in the first half of his last season.  Teddy was more steady a performer, but never had any HUGE days like Geno did.  I'm certainly no Geno fan, but I suppose some folks memories suffer from bias for the most recent and forget the headlines he was making.  Geno was much more risk/reward, where Ted has been pretty consistent.  There probably isn't as much difference between the two overall than some may want to believe.

As, it's been stated before, some don't think any of these QBs have first round grades and aren't sure fire franchise candidates... and that's where Geno fits based on where he was drafted.  So, it's certainly plausible whether you agree or not.

The revisionist history on here can be amazing at times.  Although in their defense, maybe there were only 5-10 people strongly(and often) voicing their support for Geno last year and most of them probably arent partaking in this thread.

One of the annoying things about message boards when talking about the draft is everyone's opinion gets clouded based on NFL performance.  Its easy to say Geno wasnt a top prospect now that we've seen what he did last season.  But at this point in the draft process last year, the Geno love was to the point where you didnt even want to read message board anymore.  Its similar to how every draft miss becomes a huge reach.  You'll see people post about how we reached for Blaine Gabbert.  We didnt reach for Blaine Gabbert... in fact it was the complete opposite.  Everyone seemed surprised he dropped to the point where we could take him.  But revisionist history is rampant.

Quote:Revisionist history is nice but that wouldnt have been the prevailing theory this time last year.  Go back and read this board a year ago today and you'd think Geno was the second coming.

I always thought geno had a pretty nice arm, thought he could put the ball anywhere. In college he was good in the pocket (but mostly when he took the snaps from the gun) but his decision making limits him. i think he can improve but i think TB is just on another level. if you think about prospects in tiers, i would always have teddy above geno.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Pretty sure nobody is going to trade up to get Bridgewater using a couple firsts and a second!

Okay, so seriously, why do you bash anyone who like Bridgewater?  Is it because you're still holding out hope for Gabbert?

It seems like there are a group of you guys who make anyone who wants Teddy out to be some sort of rabid, insane fan; you've even compared them to Tebow fans.  But the only ones who are even remotely like that have been vagrantwade and wiseman.  There isn't some Teddy cult; there are many who like him as our #3 pick, but nobody is rabid over him.

I don't understand the the vehement attack on anyone who thinks the guy's gonna be good and wants to draft him.  I'm not saying it's you doing this, but I've seen the terms "Teddy leg humpers" and "Bridgewater fanboys" tossed around like crazy.  One poster even suggested that Teddy fans are homosexuals who want him because he dressed in drag for a school project once.  The hell?

Are we not allowed to like a prospect because we think he'll be good?

Have stated right along (which you would have seen, if you spent more time reading instead of running off at the mouth), that I like Bridgewater but I  am also keeping an open mind. Just because im not crawling in bed with him like some of you would love to, does not mean I hate him.

BTW-What part of my question was bashing?

Well, yes.  You are... then accusing others of exactly what you're doing.  Time to check yourself.

Yes Robin....gloves are widely accepted in the NFL
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

Well, I guess you'd be the expert on that. At least I don't constantly try to tear down everyone who holds a different opinion than I do. That's all I was questioning, not "running my mouth." I'd also like to note that I was responded to with exactly what I was talking about. But whatever, I'm obviously the problem.

Honestly, Geno was a better prospect than Teddy B.
The top set of stats is Geno's.
