From the staph infections, to the awful drafts, to the shady owner and the awful disconnect between the front office and coaches, I, as a red blooded Jags fan, have pity for Browns loyalists. They have such little hope.

Why would the Browns want to trade with us knowing we also need a quarterback? If I am Michael Lombardi, I will leapfrog the Jaguars by trading with the Rams. Anything else would be stupid.

I think that after all is said and done, Bridgewater Manzeil and Bortles are all artifically inflated to the top of the draft, and more like a bottom of the top ten middle of the first round for teddy then the rest should actually be late first early second rounders, and if caldwell feels the same way, and that taking one of them is a reach, then I can see him trading that pick even if it means losing a QB that this board and the Media covets as a top calibre QB. Look at the reports coming out now about the Qbs that two weeks ago people were saying would save a franchise. There's a report on NFL.com that said Teddy isn't a franchise saver and I feel the same way.  If we can trade down get another first or even better trade with a team that's above us in the second round so we get two high round picks in the second then i can see that working out for the team better in the longrun.

You don't trade with the team you think is going to take your player, you trade with the team in front of the team who is going to take your player.


The insinuation is that Cleveland will be spooked into thinking we want Manziel, and thus jump in front of us.

 

No, what we do is tell the Browns that someone else wants to trade with us to take Manziel.  It doesn't have to be us.
