The Greatest Jag of All-Time?

#41

I'd put Brunell in the top 5

He had an average passer rating of ~ 85.0 during his 9 year career in Jax

More importantly, the leadership that he and Boselli brought to this team was immeasurable.  Looking back, the Coughlin-Brunell-Boselli combination was the perfect scenario here in Jax.

Quote:1. Tony Boselli

2. Jimmy Smith

These two are by far, the front runners. Both should be in the HOF.
I agree that these 2 are at the top, but I'd call it a tie. Both were totally dominant at their positions for multiple seasons. I still remember Jimmy Smith being double-teamed and still being un-stoppable. If not for his off the field issues, he would have easily made the Hall of Fame. In addition, he was always accessible to the fans and appeared to be a genuinely great guy. The way his career ended and subsequent problems with drugs is the saddest story in Jaguars history.

LOL, this is when real men played. Allen Robinson would just whine and blame the fans.

Quote:Bell for the Steelers kinda reminds me of Fred with his patient running style. Fred was much faster, but Bell is much better as a receiver out of the backfield. Probably my favorite RB in the league right now.

LeVeon freaking Bell couldn't hold Fred Taylor's jock strap with a forklift.

Manuwai was a better Jags guard than Naeole I thought; they were both great, I just like the fact we drafted Vince is all.

2008 was screwed when Vince and Maurice Williams went down.

Tony Boselli would be my choice.

An underrated Jaguars player who i would rank as the team's 2nd best CB only behind Rashean Mathis is Aaron Beasley.  Though Beasley wasn't that good in man coverage,  he was one of the better CBs in the NFL for an extended period of time in Zone Coverage.  Very good ball skills and if I recall correctly was a good tackler!

I remember seeing a quick one-liner during warm-ups before the 1999 62-7 game from Aaron Beasley, it wasn't shown til later, but he said he dreamt he was gonna pick Dan off twice, and he did, one on Dan's first pass. Dan threw 2 picks before his first completion, although I can't remember if Beasley got both of them or if he got one later in the game.

Loved Aaron Beasley. I was 11 and saw that game in the stadium too, which is unfortunately why I still watch these jokers!

Tony Brackens is in that same tier of outstanding and underrated players.
