I was there for the Hail Michael.  For the 59-yarder against the clots I was on work travel so I was stuck sitting in a hotel room watching it online.  My son, who was sitting in my season ticket seat, texted me that we had won before the delay online could stream it.  Man I wish I could have been there to see it, however, I was told later by others who sit around our seats that my son had a blast, so I was happy about that.

 

So you did not get to hear Gus Johnson screaming his head off. Thank God for YouTube lol. His emotion was priceless: "Knocked down . . . CAUGHT! UNBELIEVEABLE! WOW! FIFTY YARDS!"

 

But it had to be awesome being one of 60,000 screaming fans instead. I probably would have gone home with strained vocal chords.

 

Sucks about missing what I call the Big Kick. After that somebody made Jaxson holding the football his avatar.

To which I replied, the winning score was 19-17, and then I asked why you said it would not have  mattered if Morton Andersen had made it.  

 

And then I said, it would certainly have mattered if he had made it, it would have put us out of the playoffs.

AND IN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION,  the last points the Jaguars scored were 2 field goals.   That's all the points we had in the second half.   Field goal in the 3rd qtr and FG in the 4th qtr.   So the winning scoring play was a FG.

A close second is Fred Taylor's 90 yard run in the 2000 playoff game at home vs. Miami in the 62-7 blowout. 

 

For me, it's a tie between two plays. Fred Taylor's 90 yard run in the 2000 playoff game, and David Garrard's scramble against the Steelers in PIT back in 2007-2008 to where he set us up in basically chip shot FG range for Scobee to take the win for us. That game, was honestly the most exciting play-off game I ever recall seeing as a Jaguars' fan. Just because of how we scored throughout the game, and how we finished it. That game was ugly for Garrard, he had a bad day thru the air, BUT, when we needed him to come up big, he did it.

I was thinking Garrard's 4th down run too.  Didn't the jags win a game once with a goal line stand?  I can't remember it right now, but I feel like it happened.

The play that stands out in my mind is a long TD pass to Jimmy Smith to take the lead with about a minute left in a game against the Ravens in 2000.


 

Unfortunately, the defense couldn't hold that lead.
