Could this be last game as jag for MJD?

#41

My whole point of posting this was just in case he is traded. I wasn't saying he will be,or won't be. I wasn't saying he should be either,i was just putting the info out there in case he does get traded, that way no one will be surpised.   If hes not traded that won't be a surpise to anyone at all. I'm sure a lot more people would be surpised if he got traded.

I don't see any trades. Because there is no value for them.

Yup when they let Denard get a regular RB carry he looks good but for some reason they refuse to let him get those.

If he was having a better year and was flashing any of that old burst whatsoever, yeah, there'd probably be a trade market for him, and he'd probably be shipped out before the deadline.

He isn't having a good year and he isn't showing burst, though, so it would take a truly desperate team with a coach who needs to win now to save his job and has nothing at running back.

Hello, Tampa. I can't help but wonder if they'll call given the severity of Muscle Hamster's injury. Of course, the "coach who needs to win now" aspect of it assumes that Schiano isn't fired tomorrow.

He was never the same guy after the meniscus tear a few years ago. Lost all his speed. Became a great powerback but he's not even that anymore. Might as well trade him for anything and give more reps to Forsett/Toddman/Denard.

Quote:I'm not saying we will trade him, but its  a possbillty.  What we do know for sure is this sunday could be last time we see him in a jags uniform.

"We know for sure that [something] is a possibility.”  Your logic . . . makes my head hurt.

I know FOR SURE that it's a possibility that Shahid Kahn is going to fire David Caldwell and promote John Oehser to General Manager.

I know FOR SURE that it's a possibility that I’m going to win lotto 12 times in row, then make enquiries about moving the Jaguars to Australia.

This is rumour and speculation - it’s not news.  Even if it did come true, that wouldn’t demonstrate that whoever said it had any inside information.

Denard has been averaging less than a yard and half per rush. I agree he needs more action but he's not a power running back.

Quote:Maurice Jones-Drew still has gas in his tank but I do hope they trade him because he deserves to be on a winning team that is not disfunctional for his end years.

It's always funny when I read this.  They really could care less if they are playing for a scrub team or a winner as long as they are getting paid.

Quote:Agreed and the thing is he had every right to hold out.

He had two years left on his deal.  He had no right in the world.

I'm glad the Jags didnt cave on that one.  I love MJD, but he had no right to hold out.

All I know is that if it rains Sunday like they think it will - I hope MJD gets 20+ carries and Todman/D-Rob split another 10 or so between them.

Put Ta'ufo'ou and Mercedes in blocking mode and run towards Pasztor and Uche on more than half of those rushing downs.  They have to get this running game going. They niners are allowing 107 yards per game on the ground. Would be nice to see the Jags eclipse that number on a soggy field.

Sure he did... you play well you get a raise.. your perform poorly you get cut. You get hurt your career is over and you don't get another contract. I have no problem with what he did.

I wouldn't mind trading him for a 7th-round pick.  The tank's about empty.

^^^^^ This is so true. I'd be thrilled with a 7th. Better than nothing when we don't resign him. Kind of similar to the Monroe trade, would have been nice to have gotten a higher pick, but I believe Monroe wasn't coming back next year. He knew it, Caldwell knew it, the only problem was so did every other team.

not me. A 7th rounder isn't worth the expense of the filing costs...

Name me the last 7th rounder that became anything of relevance.

If they can't at least get a 5th or even 6th for him, then screw it. Just keep him the rest of the year.

Point is, you asked for a 7th rounder with any relevance and I listed you 5 pro bowlers. How many 4th round busts have their been?

Quite possibly for both him and babin. And he's taking away opportunities from robinson to have a purpose

I respect where you are coming from but here's some  7th Round picks in the last 10 years that either far out produced their draft spot or were converting into a much higher draft resource:

Matt Cassel (  eventually got traded for a high 2nd Round pick.  )

Cortland Finnegan

Jay Ratliff

Ahmad Bradshaw

Julian Edelman
