No, the best case scenario is we get the top pick without losing every game (the Giants finally helped us out) and select Teddy Bridgewater or Marcus Mariota.

1st overall : Teddy

or

2nd overall: Barr

or

3rd overall: Clowney

4th overall: Matthews

5th overall: Lewan

This can all change of course. Still a lot of games to play, plus the combine.

I was thinking something similar...I want us to double up on QB's this year... Bridgewater/Mariota in the 1st......I want two QB's in the first 3 rounds. You might even be able to get McCaron in the 3rd round. I would still take Manziel in the 2nd if he was there though. The rest of the draft, just pick O-Line.

If the Caldwell starts letting it be known ahead of time that we are drafting Teddy (Top QB prospect in the nation) Bridgewater, I am probably flying to NYC for the draft in May.

Don't hold your breath. The number of teams interested in Teddy Bridgewater will make David Caldwell want to put up a smokescreen because he knows who else went to Louisville.

I am not confused at all. If David Caldwell says, "We will pick Teddy Bridgewater," he will get trade-down offers from other teams who want him. When that happens he will listen to everyone who calls. I think you are confused because there is no guarantee we actually will pick #1 overall before the playoffs start.

I know you aren't a big football fan so I will give you a pass. But there is no way in hell Caldwell is trading down if he can take the top QB in the draft when Teddy is one of the top QB prospects of the past decade.

Teddy Bridgewater. Obvious, no arguement. Franchise in every way. Accuracy, arm strength, work ethic, Football IQ, leader, plays in a pro style offense. There a lot of holes in every other top 5 QBs games in college. We have lots of other holes we need to fill but a Frachise QB is the center peice and what's wins championships. This is a deep draft and we have 9 other picks to fill them.

What makes you think I am not a big football fan? If that was true, I never would have joined this board.

Actually there is a way Caldwell would trade down. He said he wants to build through the draft, so if he gets an amazing offer like what the Redskins gave the Rams, he could bite.
