Star Wars vs. Star Trek.
They should both be loved and appreciated equally. This feud must end.

Quote:Star Wars vs. Star Trek. I prefer BSG.
Quote:Star Wars vs. Star Trek. Quote:I prefer BSG.firely trumps all 3 tbh  Quote:Is there really a feud for that? lol Yea, there is. My best guess (I've only watched one Star Wars movie and have never been intrigued by Star Trek at all) is that it stems from a debate on which is more scientifically accurate. I find this silly because, as I understand it, both stretch science to its limits and sometimes beyond. It's science fiction entertainment, not a documentary. North Korea invades the US in the remake of Red Dawn.
Some people actually...umm...err...l-l-l-ike PEPSI. Evolution. I see too many Clot, titan and tinhorn fans who missed the last step up the ladder if its true. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???
Quote:Is there really a feud for that? lol Yes, unfortunately there is. Quote:I prefer BSG. BSG is good too, but just so you know the new version was made by the same people who did TNG. Quote:firely trumps all 3 tbh  It's really a shame that show was cancelled. It's the best thing Joss ever did. Quote:Yea, there is. No, it's not that because only Star Trek has any real basis in scientific fact and doesn't involve much mysticism or super powers. And actually, a lot of the technology and theories on Star Trek are not as far fetched as you might think. Warp theory is a real thing, and so many of the technological devices depicted on the show we already have. Like tablets, cellphones, text messaging, etc. The inventors themselves have credited ST for giving them the inspiration. Seriously, look up some of the theories. Obviously a lot of it is mumbo-jumbo fiction, but for the most part the writers go out of their way to make the science as legitimate as fictionally possible. Much more so than any other run of the mill science fiction show. Just sayin'

Quote:I don't get the Pepsi over Coke thing either! Wanna hear something odd?....I generally prefer coke over pepsi, except when I am eating pizza. I was just giving my best guess based on what I've heard from people that are fans.
Quote:Like I said, I haven't watched Star Trek. I was just giving my best guess based on what I've heard from people that are fans. Try it out. I don't think you need to be a nerd, geek, what have you to enjoy it. It is a top notch tv program. Given to terrible episodes, but all shows do. As a sampler, try watching the TNG episode "The Measure of a Man".

Shatner is the consummate entertainer and the show is really interesting.
Quote:I don't get the Pepsi over Coke thing either! Man, I do. When I'm hot and thirsty there is absolutely nothing better than an ice cold Coke. Not the diet or Zero stuff, the real thing. Preferably out of a bottle, but a can will do. We don't want any of that overly-sweet syrupy Pepsi crap up in heah!

History and Discovery channel have made many different docs talking about the influences of ST and the truth behind some of the science used in the show.
