The run defense goes as Abry goes. We are missing that big body in the middle to take on doubles. Abry has had two bad games lately and it showed. I want to say Ankou took a majority of the snaps 3/4 of the game last week. Keeping the opposing teams OL from getting to the second level is crucial with our LBs. Getting off blocks has been terrible. These LBs thrive in space.

The gap issues were only one game.  

The biggest reason we get gashed is because our edge is selling out for pressure.  They are emphasizing getting upfield over holding point, which I'm fine with as long as they keep making plays.  Abry Jones not moving people doesn't help.

There were some gap issues in the third quarter of the Titans game as well, but overall the run defense failure in that game was more about the DL finding themselves worn down by the Titans OL and RB late in the game.

As for the Jets game, the first huge run was more about thinking the play was dead than a gap issue. A couple other big runs were gap issues, but overall I blame the Jets OL whooping our DL inside.  I kept seeing moster holes. If the Jets had a better RB, that game could have become ugly real quick.

Everyone thought the play was dead except the officials and Bilal Powell. I am 100% positive Powell was touched and the play should have been whistled dead at that spot. But no, it had to stand because Al Riveron could not see it.

However, on the 60-yard TD later in the game, the only people you can blame are the guys wearing wearing black uniforms. Why couldn't we stop the third string RB on a bad team?

I know, but when you pair Jackson with the huge downgrade of Abry Jones from Roy Miller, it basically means we have no run stuffing presence in the middle.

Some of what you are describing is as simple as teams lining up 3 WR and then running out of that formation against our nickel defense instead of our base D. 

I don't really see so much bad guessing from the coordinator as just the Jags D getting beat by the run in the middle when the offense spreads the field.  

It will be interesting to see how Wash and company attempt to correct the issue moving forward.
