Hackett new Offensive Coordinator

I guess there's hope for Blake if Glenn's Liquors ever decides to do a local spot.

Blackmon called dibs on that gig years ago.

Hope he sticks with the uptempo offense, and let Bortles throw out the pocket where he has like 100 passer rating, stop forcing him to throw from the pocket unless its a quick slant pass

Optimistic me: This could be great! It's super important for the QB and the OC to have a relationship.

Realistic me: meh, I'll believe it when I see it.

Quote:I'm interested to see the effect this has on Bortles. While I don't expect a turnaround like Buffalo had, I would wager we break our opening drive TD drought next week

Unless the move allows Bortles to suddenly re-gain strength in his fatigued arm, I don't see this having much of an effect. I suspect the biggest move will be a fundamental change in philosophy to run the ball more.

This. Everything has a plus and a minus. I would also like to mix things up. We just have been this team of "we keep it simple and are going to do what we do and do it well". That hasn't worked. It just never seems like we are finding mismatches or adjusting game plans week to week. [BLEEP] offense was creative, mixed it up, had some creativity, etc...

Are you freaking kidding me? The one guy that coaches the player who has REGRESSED the most!? Should've been Bradley and Olsen. What a [BLEEP] joke. They think this will satisfy the fans???????

Khan and/or Caldwell have no idea what they're doing in regards to the coaching staff

To comment on "fast tempo" of our new coordinator...

I have extreme caution with this.

As with offenses in our past, faster to 3 and out is faster to 3 and out.

It digs holes deeper and faster if you aren't converting.

All of this

Exactly. Plus they have already fired an OC under Bradley. How did that work out? Its the SAME PROBLEMS. MORONS...I'm fuming over this.

2nd defensive coordinator and 3rd O Coord under Bradley now. This franchise is becoming a bigger joke than it already is.

With those changes everything will be constant...then they will fire Bradley. They should do it now while we still have a slim shot at the division. We are only 1 and 1. Hell, lets not use logic.

Jags new OC Nathaniel Hackett was Doug Marrone’s OC in Buffalo, including the Kyle Orton year. Run-heavy.

That's the main thing I've been hearing. Up tempo and run heavy. Sounds fun.

and there it is right there....shame the idiots who can make a decision can't see the problem. Truth is, I genuinely think the whole Jags head office are gay for each other and they are letting love/sex get in the way of rational decision making.

I wonder if Hackett is going to keep the current playbook and just toss out a bunch of stuff. I would think coming in with a bunch of new plays mid-season is going to be tough

Honestly as long as Gus is our coach I simply do not think we prepare nearly as well as an NFL caliber coach does, or gets as much out of his players as other coaches. Under utilized talent coupled with bad preparation gives you these ugly games/results/regressions.

The Titans just whooped our [BLEEP] with the same philosophy. And they had fun doing it.
