It was a bit more sparse than I expected given the team's good performance this season, but it wasn't "empty."
(whatever that stupid comment means when there were clearly well over 50,000 people there)

There were a few sections in the middle levels that had a number of open seats that concerned me a little.The club seats always appear sparse but it's mostly because people are inside the club.

The upper decks have a long way to go before they'll not look really light in attendance.

I bought seven tickets to yesterday's game and my crew had an awesome tailgate and a great day at the stadium.

Not sure how they could track this but would be interested to know how many people are in the bud zone, inside the club sections, etc..... at any given time.  Seems like every time I go to those places they are packed with fans.

Pretty good numbers in Nashville -- good reference.  The #Jaguars #Colts game did a 23 rating, 40 share (prelim) and SEC Championship did a 19 rating, 32 share. Football is big! [/font][/font]

I was disappointed in the east side of the stadium which was a little sparse. Can't recall a year where it's been regularly about 60% or 70% full since the 2009 season which is about the worst we've had attendance wise. As a long time STH, I've noticed that the big differences in attendance aren't made during the season, it's made in the offseason when season tickets are sold. You always have a certain number of walk up / single game buyers but the real difference in the bottom line is made by STH purchasers. Coming off of this season, I expect that to be improved going into next year.

Winning solves everything.

The sold out crowd erupted with a chant of "Playoffs! Playoffs!" during the fourth quarter of the game. It was a far cry from the half-empty, frustrated fourth-quarter audiences of the past few years.

"It’s been awesome," Khan said about the attendance after the game.

"We’ve had standing room only tickets today, which certainly hasn’t happened in the almost six years I’ve been here, so it’s wonderful. The energy in this stadium, you can’t replace that, and that’s why we need the fans.”

The team was 17-63 under Khan's ownership entering this season.

In January, Khan made the move to bring back former head coach Tom Coughlin as the team's vice president of football operations. From there, Coughlin and general manager Dave Caldwell hired Doug Marrone as the team's head coach.

The leadership trio and a host of successful offseason moves have paved the way for the Jaguars' return to the postseason.

"It’s unbelievable," Khan said.

"To win it and win it the way we did today, mind-blowing. Really, really grateful, obviously, and proud of the players, the football leadership and the fans. Especially, the last two games, have given us the energy, put it over the top. It’s been awesome.”

At 10-4, the Jaguars are in control of their own destiny. The Jaguars hold the lead in the AFC South division race. Jacksonville also has an outside shot of earning a first-round bye.

It's a remarkable turnaround for a team that won just 11 games during the previous three seasons combined. Khan understands the gravity of the newfound success.

"Well, I had been through life when I was a laughingstock in whatever business I was in, auto parts or what have you," Khan said.

"You have to stay in it and success comes. It’s a story of perseverance.”

Great crowd. What was highly impressive was the sparse opposing fan crowd. Unlike the hawks crowd, I saw very few. Duval showed up but disappointed to see most left before final whistle.

Another point on attendance is the official capacity is about 64.5K now with all the seats removed for premiums.. A couple of other factors are that brokers may have bought up upper deck tickets which allowed the team to claim a sellout on Sunday and sell standing room tickets.. I did see folks walking around with fistfull of tickets outside...

On that note, we were told that all playoff tickets will be mobile for season ticketholders.. .. It was indicated that the NFL is looking to go all mobile in a couple of years.. That would be a real crimp in gameday sales of extra tickets.. I guess the new standard will be standing together with cell phones transferring.. Lots easier to hand somebody a couple of tickets for $100... I guess some of this is their way to wipe out fraud I suppose..
