Bortles on pace for 27 TDs and 4,352 yards

#41

Those blaming Bortles can you name 1 bad qb who regularly puts up 300 yard games?

If YOU say so. Polians taught me more than anyone on this message board would know.

And is 24? Blakes future is pointing through the roof. These fans just better HOPE Bortles wants to resign here.

Quote:I know this board is full of Blake haters but Bortles is 24 years old and has LOTS of talent.

Bortles 27 TD and 4,352 yard season would be 2nd BEST QB season in Jaguars 21 YEAR HISTORY after Bortles 35 TD and 4,400 yard season.

Jags are LUCKY to have Blake. They won't find better. If they had a real head coach, I think Bortles becomes top 3 QB in NFL
I don't necessarily disagree with you on Bortles' talent or ceiling, but I would like to see some of those yards and TDs happen when games are still undecided.

Well that's on the D too and insisting on running the ball.

As soon as we ditch the run we get effective

Sure. So would I. I would like Olson to open up the offense in the first quarter and put Blake in shotgun instead of I-formation for -1 yard runs. 3rd and longs and the play calling killed this offense this year.

..and you base that on what?

How are you in ANY position to judge how much people know. Just because you have family members who are SCOUTS.

I have a good friend who is a regular starter for a PREMIER LEAGUE soccer team. It doesn't mean I know any more about the game than anyone else who attends the games.

80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics...

Can you tell me when he threw 300yds against cover two defense? Other than prevent?

Quote:This is a FOUR YEAR reoccurring theme. Gus gave up 42 points to Titans last game when Bortles threw for 5 TDs and LOST. How do you explain that?

Gus has been the problem for four seasons. It's really not rocket science.
It's been more than four years.  Honestly I can't remember a time when Talent wise the defense was putrid, but issue has been the ineptness of the offense bringing the defense down.  Up until the complete gutting we have always had a middle of the pack defense...

since then we've been bottom of the barel.  I remember times with Gabbert when we're like man, our D could be legit if fabbert could just not go 3 and out.

My father was a scout that chose Peyton Manning OVER Ryan Leaf for Bill Polian. I've grown up in the industry. I don't need to prove ANYTHING to you. Just understand that Bortles has elite talent and the Jags are VERY lucky to have him. In 3-4 years, Bortles will be a top 3 QB in this league.

Filter nfl stats by passing yards a game and all the worst QBs are at the bottom

32. Gabbert

31. Taylor

30. Kessler

29. Siemian

28. Osweiler

27. Wentz

26. Fitzpatrick

25. Mariota

24. Hoyer

23. Bradford

22. Keenum

21. Tannehill

But they have so much garbage time!!!!!! Sorry you don't keep putting up these stats as a bad qb

Last year he did A LOT. This year Olson wants to run for 10 carries for 25 yards EVERY first half of EVERY game

Bortles is making stupid decisions and making some bad throws.

Having said that, I still believe that the OL is to blame for most of his problems. Bortles used to be confident, and now he's always anticipating the pass rush. Williamson lined up across Cann, and Cann immediately moved to Linder's guy (who was completely controlled) and allowed him to go in for the sack. Robinson is still dropping passes, and he was targeted 15 times. Yeldon is only about 70 yards ahead of Bortles in rushing yards. Defensive players are committing stupid penalties and horrible times. Supernaw's long pass would have been ended short had the defender not simply released him from the tackle. Bortles is not playing well, but he's taking a lot of the blame for what I believe is bad overall play at all levels.

Bradley has lost this team. The defense literally quit on him tonight.

I'm not doubting Blake Bortles' talent.

I'm judging your reasoning for being on here saying you know more about football/talent because your family has scouts in it.

I don't have a single scout in my family, but I can see when players are good.

Stop trying to play the 'in the know' card because someone in your family knows that a player is good at what they do. You're embarrassing yourself.

You're wasting your time man. These message board clowns still think Teddy Bridgewater is great because his 16 ppg defense carried him.

Vikings upgraded at QB.

The Jags problem has ALWAYS been coaching and defense. It's still coaching and defense.

But I AM in the know. I know Bortles agent. And Chris Polian. If you don't want inside information, then I'll stop talking.

That doesn't show when Bortles has thrown 300+ yds against cover two. All of his yards are mostly due to teams playing off coverage or prevent since they are up big after the first half.
