Who Replaces Gus When He is Fired after Tonight?

#41

Quote:Serious question, do you think Khan will have the testicular fortitude to fire Gus tonight?
They showed him early on in the game and he really, really looked unhappy. If they hadnt shown him looking like that I would probably say no but he looks like hes ready for a change

I think Khan just plays it out and we suffer greatly.

Who cares? It'll just be a band aid on a gashing wound. I'm more interested in who we hire at the end of the year. I want us to interview George Edwards DC Minnesota, Pete Carmichael Jr. OC New Orleans, James Bettcher DC Arizona, Rick Dennison OC Denver and Bob Sutton DC Kansas City. We should go from there.

I agree.

Firing Gus now just means a brief side show for a few games and then back to suck. It's the end of the year hire which has the juice.

Khan won't do it.

If he fired Gus, it will mean Khan is admitting his mistake for re-signing Gus.

Khan will inflict more pain on the fans rather than doing the right thing.

matt patricia,

anywho, as soon as they signed guess to a one year extention everyone knew it was a feel good thing.  If they would have signed him to a three year I would have believed it more and the players know it. They know how this league is and they know that coaches regardless how much time is on their contract will get fired.

To me it seemed like they all said Gus is the issue and decided in this game there wasn't a reason to play for him, and the quickest way to change that was to stop caring.

It's one thing to stay somewhat competitive in games during the season and wait till the end, It's another for your playerbase from the bottom up to say we don't want to wait...

I disagree.

I understand the logic behind the extension.

Realistically it meant nothing in terms of job security, but it gave the image of hope to potential FA signings.

It provides a message of "if it works, tomorrow is ready" but a 1 year extension is easily absorbed if it doesnt pan out.

You put Marrone in.  And you let the soft candy butt players know that they are all on notice.  Tryouts start Wednesday.
