This is the kind of Bull[BLEEP] Propaganda I'm Talking About

I don't see it.It's all about match ups and adjustments. Until the game is played, we only see the match ups on paper. On paper, NE should win, but the games aren't played on paper. If they were, the Pats wouldn't have lost to KC, Carolina, or Miami. They would have lost to the Steelers. Just enjoy the game because it should be a good one! It can be argued that pound for pound, the Jags are vastly superior to the Pats talentwise, on both sides of the ball collectively. On paper, the Jags are the team with the advantage, imo. However, Bill, Tom, Gillette, mystique and experience heavily offsets paper...

Just the other day Bleacher Report posted a complete Jaguar stroke job article....
Now they are bagging on them? I dig it... Rather have everyone call us Jagwads, talk about us not belonging... talk about Superbowl ratings being down (they won't be)... I'd rather all that than everyone talking us up Cinderella style... I think when the hot streak started and everyone was loving us, that's when the team faltered. When we're dissed and pushed aside and crapped on, they come out fiery. Also Mike Tanier sounds like a real gem of a dude to hang around. Honestly... it writes like a Browns fan, whose season was over long ago and is now being forced to report on the possible teams matching up with Superbowl aspirations. Or a Pats fan worried about being eliminated by the hapless Jags lol
Regarding the original post, cheers for posting Bullseye. I read it and smiled on many of those quips because I experience them often. If you live in Jacksonville, the article may not resonate as profoundly to you. I have been jeered at for being a Jag so much during my sports bar days, I became immune to it, and even benefited on occasion. People will buy me beer, with an awwwww God bless you man. In academia, when I state Jacksonville as my starting point in the U.S, the response is usually, why? Or, oh! A Jags appearance in the big dance is simply not sexy to the uniformed, non-fan who'll form the crux of superbowl viewership. People like legacies, people love familiarity, though a sizeable % embrace change. External approval is moot at this point. Go Jaguars, let em keep choking on their words.
P.S The Jags game at the back back dining room of the huge sport bar is absolutely spot on. Like eerily so. This season, I literally watched Jags/Chargers in the back back back dining room, alone, while Steelers/Colts showed in about 15 screens in the main bar. The bartender pleasantly told me that such low profile games have to be put out back so clients can be drawn in for the "better games". Lol. Go Jags

I think the NFL is fixing to see a huge shift. Brady, Roethlisberger, Brees, etc. These guys are on the tail ends of their careers. I for one as a fan of football am happy to see this change. I am tired of seeing Pittsburgh and New England in there every year. I hope we see random match ups every year now with it all being about defense and more defense.

The Patriots and their fans are well versed on the media and their Bullcrap. And that's the truth. Even certain members of the local (Boston) media love to talk nonsense. They think the Pats will win, but seem to want them to lose. Loads of bullcrap towards both teams. (01-19-2018, 11:38 AM)Caldrac Wrote: I think the NFL is fixing to see a huge shift. Not sure if you recall, but back in August, during a somber hopeless period in preseason, I told you to chin up and that you'd thank me later. I can't dig up stuff now, on my cell. But, you're welcome mon frere. Can't discount the season before it starts. We'll continue to learn ![]()

I don't see it. I guess the national sports experts are delusional, too, 'cause 86% of them are picking the Pats. That doesn't sound like a toss up scenario, but you just keep on rooting for your team. Don't get me wrong...I do think the Jags have a chance, and that chance is slim to none! When Brady goes to the hurry-up, he'll leave those tubs you have up front gasping and panting.....and there goes the vaunted Jaguar pass rush! And don't worry about the NE wideouts. he'll be carving you up with the RBs and TEs. LOL Pittsburgh's TE (What's his name?) torched the Jags for 16 catches in the 2 games....can you imagine what Gronk is going to do? But, good luck on Sunday. And remember, every game's a learning opportunity and you have to crawl before you can walk. ![]() (01-19-2018, 03:51 PM)Phil Swift Wrote:(01-19-2018, 07:21 AM)iapetus Wrote: Because we're a better team than the Miami Dolphins. We wouldn't get as much praise. If we beat you, the focus will be overwhelmingly on what went wrong with you as opposed to why the Jaguars were able to make plays. Please don't take this as bragging because it's not my intent... That same Blake won both games by finding ways to make plays when it mattered. The jitters from the Buffalo game are long gone. Blake and the entire team are loose and focused on the task at hand. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
I would love a jags vs vikeings Super bowl. I haven't had 2 teams i like in it since raiders vs bucs. notice i said teams i like not my favorite team. of course i would go for jags over vikeings.

Looks like the NFL has already decided who’s going to the Super Bowl !

What wideouts do the pats have that compare to the steelers? RB? Look, the pats have some decent pieces but your advantage is Brady and quick game. That's it. Unless you are going to run a hurry up offense with RB dumpoffs all game, this isn't a good matchup for the pats. Sounds as though you should take your own advice and actually watch how this defense plays, not just snipits and box scores. If I were to just go off of the pats snipits and box scores, I would walk away thinking the pats were mediocre at best.(01-19-2018, 07:21 AM)iapetus Wrote: Because we're a better team than the Miami Dolphins. LOL, I was such a Patriot fan in the 1970s and 1980s I had a cat named Grogan. When we got the Jags I got season tickets and figured I was a fan of both teams. It doesn't work that way. Halfway through the 1995 season I didn't care about the Pats anymore. When we played NE in the 1996 AFCCG I hated the Pats. Well, I missed out on all the Super Bowls and the GOAT and everything that goes with it, but the heart wants what it wants. IT WANTS A JAGUAR VICTORY!
