I'm not saying that the game was totally on the Defense, but they fell apart at a crucial moment. You don't allow ANY opponent to convert 3rd and 18 from their own 25 yard line. You just don't. Then give up a touchdown by the opponent a few plays later. Then give up another touchdown just a few minutes later. I am by no means saying that the defense solely lost the game, but they were a factor. As far as "not being over" the Championship loss of 1999, I was over that a long time ago. I'm a fan of football. I enjoy watching/going to games solely for the entertainment. The outcome isn't something that I'm emotionally stressed about. As the old saying goes... "you win some, you lose some". When you win you enjoy the victory. When you lose, be disappointed but also learn from it and move on. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Conservative play calling or not, they didn’t execute well enough late in that game. It was indeed a factor. One of many.
The 3rd and 18 is what killed us. But if Gilmore doesn't swat that ball, then Cole busts the game wide open.
What doesn't get talked about is Fournette loafed on a nice ball from Bortles. He would habe scored untouched on the last drive. I think it was on 2nd down. (even without the Myles Jack play) It's Tom Frickin Brady... the dude went from down 28-3 the year prior in the SB... no lead is safe. Yeah, the D definitely screwed the pooch on 3rd and 18. But I mean... they still held the "goat" to 3 TDs for the entire game. That's usually a winning formula VS the Pats. And I don't lose sleep over the 99 championship I just mean I'm not over it as in anytime we face the titans I remember... anytime we have a big game in prime time I think of these types of losses. I mean, our Jags have lost so much over the years I'm definitely used to it so I don't carry that weight beyond the day of the game. But I'll never forget or be "over it" lol
I'll never get over the music city miracle. If they stay in their lanes, Jags beat the Bills and go to the SB.
I'll never forgive Barlow for fumbling. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! |
