2019 Schedule

(04-18-2019, 01:42 AM)JackCity Wrote: Hard to see much room to make a run anywhere but if you beat Joe Flacco and the Broncos away (which will be v tough early in the year) , beat one of the panthers or saints , then you have a should win Vs the Bengals , Jets which will be a toss up and then the Texans in London

Go 4-2 over that span and head into the bye with a lot of momentum, two division games waiting for you on the other side.

That's an optimistic view of course, you can just as easily go 2-4 over that stretch and your season will already be over
Flacco sucks, he is Bortles plus the risk of being killed with any good hit and not having an arm to throw deep. So stop Lindsay out of the backfield with the Jags fast LBs and you shut them down.

You also have to think of the broadcast - the west coast affiliates will have more viewers at 1PM to watch a team they care about than at 10AM

KC is a 1p, and that early-season heat will be a bigger factor than when the Chargers roll in.

But his statement is not true as I pointed out in my prior post.

What are you talking about.  Last year (2018) we didn't host any west coast teams and in 2017 we only hosted 2 west coast teams and both games were at 1pm (ET).  In 2016 we hosted the Raiders and Broncos and both games were at 1pm (ET).  In 2015 the only west coast team we hosted was the Chargers and that game was at 1pm (ET)

Honestly, I figured signing Foles would get us at least one primetime (FOH Thursday games) matchup. Hopefully we're in the running at the end of the season and get one flexed.

I hope this put a chip on the team's shoulder. Get a ton of wins, maybe we'll get some attention next season from the broadcasters. Unfortunately, this is a brutal schedule, breaking .500 may be the upper limit.

The good news is the rest of the division has pretty much the same brutal schedule.

Chiefs week 1 will be a tough start but a good judge to last season. We went to KC in good form and the wheels fell off from there. Hopefully they won't be at full speed and a bit of week 1 rust.

We always get the T*tans as we have a bit of history with them. That's it really. The NFL cant think of anything else but at least we are at home this time.

Its the games against teams like the Broncos, Jets, Bengals, Bucs that im not sure about. New HC's and they were bad last year but how will they be this?

London game is mid season so gives us the bye at a nice time too.

Now for the draft....

Personally, I don't think anyone outsider of Jacksonville or Nashville want to see the Titans vs Jags and personally speaking, I really don't care to see that boring (run-run-defense-defense) matchup on a prime time event. I think the NFL is trying to knock out 2 teams in 1 matchup so they don't have to show the Jags or Titans on any other national prime time games. I think it would be much cooler featuring the Jags vs a passing team like the Saints so you have a contrast in team strategy.

It's a way to give two small markets their token "primetime" game and don't forget it's one of those thursday games that will only be on NFL network with no major network simulcast nationally.

Lazy and weak IMO.  Colts @ Jags in Oct/November would have been a good Sunday/Monday night game IMO.

Looks to me like we played the Rams at 4:00 in 2017 so we’re both kinda right.

Not really (unless you consider 2 of 7 equating to 100%).  Nice try though; but I do give you credit for going through the details (after the fact).

Dawg the Dolphins got a MNF game.

They’re going to be TERRIBLE.

Yep.

It all boils down to ad dollars.

The NFL and their affiliates can't sell the ad time as effectively for small market teams.  They'll sell it easier and pricier for phins vs squealers than Jags/tacks.

It's looking like Tyreek Hill will be suspended for the season opener.
