This is an valid point to which I never considered. All of the reporting has been either stellar performances and or injuries to say the least. 

The bad performances will rear their heads within mandatory and or training camps and the weeding out process will commence.

But it did look (at the time) like it might have been very bad breaks to the tibia and fibula. So he's better off than we thought in that regard.

I think Conley is totally flying under the radar this offseason. Heck, a few days ago when I saw this topic, it had actually slipped my mind that we signed him. He's going to be our JuJu this year.

Jaguars wide receiver Keenan McCardell is encouraged by Keelan Cole in recent months. “This offseason has been really good for him,” McCardell said of Cole, who caught just 38 passes for 491 yards a touchdown last season after catching 42 passes for 748 yards and three touchdowns as an undrafted rookie in 2017. This is the NFL. People tend to game plan you now when you’ve had some success. How do you bounce back and come back and game plan for them? How do you prepare mentally?
He’s refocused and understands that, ‘I’ve had some success. Guys tend to prepare for me a little bit different than when I was just a guy that nobody knows.’ Now you are known. People prepare for you now. How do you prepare and how do you get better?”

Cole was among the NFL leaders in drops last season with seven. “Drops come for receivers,” McCardell said. “I understand that. It’s about your mental state. How can you bounce back from having a bad game to coming back the next week and having a great game?” McCardell also said Cole may have struggled with a larger role made necessary when starter Marqise Lee sustained a season-ending preseason knee injury. “He had to step full-fledged into a starting role and that can weigh a lot on a second-year guy that hasn’t really had that experience of being a starter,” McCardell said. “It comes with the territory, those ups and downs. Now that he’s had that down, now let’s come back up and let’s prove to people that you belong here, you know you belong here. Now let’s show everybody that you belong here.”

McCardell has also commented positively on the chemistry between Conley and Foles. 


Personally, I'm optimistic, but really want to see which guys stand out when the pads come on before getting too hopeful.

Our group is certainly talented and with the addition of guys like Conley and Pryor this off season we are pretty diverse in styles and size combos we can use with our WR corp.
I don't know if we're going to have that big time double digit TD and 1k+ yard WR. But I really don't think any team needs that.

I'd take multiple WRs in the 500-750 yards. If the Jags can field 3 WRs on the higher side and finally have a passing TE, the offense should be great. LF needs open space to find the hole, so open the box up with the passing attack.

As much as I hate to predict stat lines in June, I'd not be the least bit shocked to see something like 900 yds and 8 TDs from Westbrook. He's a playmaker IMO, and I think Flip/Foles will make that more apparent. 

If you get three other guys "producing" somewhere below those numbers but moving chains, then it's all good. 

If Cole gets on track, 
Conley is more than OTA flash, 
Chark gets to showcase those ball-tracking skills ,
and Lee gets healthy...  
hell, if only two of those  ^ four things happen, it'll probably be enough. 

The TEs and RBs are going to be shouldering a solid portion of the pass production in this system and the run will be emphasized. I think it's wise to remember these things when envisioning WR production. 

They don't need two 1000 yard, 10 TD guys to make this a winning offense.

If I have to go with 2 of those 4, I want Chark and Conley to produce. 

I think Chark, Conley and Westbrook have the most potential playing with Foles. They're all very versatile with the potential to take one to the house.

Personally, I'm optimistic, but really want to see which guys stand out when the pads come on before getting too hopeful.

I don't want to jeopardize my personal long term relationship with the Jags Message Board by reaching out to other social media outlets.  It just feels dirty to me as I was brought up in a conservative family with traditional values.

I'll stick to remaining loyal to the Jags Message Board through its aging process and continue to get my updates from Wolfie's dad (via posts from Wolfie)
