Quote:Bullied is a relative term. We are essentially the largest consumer market in the history of the world. There is no reason that countries seeking access to our domestic markets can't treat our exports the same way we treat their imports.

Every year we are loosing more than 3/4 of a trillion dollars in a trade deficit. That's unsustainable. We can't continue to trade into the hole of countries that have protectionist policies or in the case of China, just steal our intellectual property.

They have to be held accountable.

Talking about a trade deal and stealing intellectual property are two different things. Separating the two to strictly talk about renegotiating a trade deal. What is the incentive for any nation to do so? How do you encourage a country to take a worse deal for themselves than what they've had without bullying?

You seem to think that bullying is bad. That's your core mistake, you don't know how to use power.

Now you're just not listening.

1.) enforcement for crimes against producers specifically intellectual property is part of a trade agreement.

2.) the purpose of a trade deal is to promote reciprocal trade. The idea that we should be running an 800 billion dollar trade deficit to be the nice guy of the world is none sense.

3.) other countries NEED access to our large consumer market more than we need them dumping their goods here. WE HAVE THE 16 TRILLION DOLLAR GOLDEN GOOSE! That's natural leverage in trade negotiations. Using that isn't bullying its having the common sense not to be bullied.

Not at all.. there's a difference between walking tall and carrying a big stick and just whacking anyone who doesn't do what you want with a stick. It makes no difference at this point how bad his policies are. He will never be president and it will have nothing to do with a rigged election.

And what happens when a country wants to make terms with America factoring in our crimes? I get he wants a better deal. I don't get how he thinks he is going to accomplish it.

You tell them "good luck with that" and tarrif thd hell out of them. The world needs us, not the other way around; it's time our leadership acted like it.

800 billion a year... a YEAR in tangible trade deficit...  another half trillion dollars in stolen intellectual property...  and we are just supposed to sit back and watch the wealth of our nation drained to the rest of the world to show how tolerant and nonaggressive we are?

No we don't ignore it and accept it but trumps plan to tax you and me on foreign goods isn't going to change that. You want to eliminate that deficit roll back corporate taxes of which we have the highest in the world, roll back regulations and unionization that makes manufacturing here near impossible. Eliminate the income tax and start taxing consumption to create more wealth for the working class. But damn it don't tell more taxes is the solution that's what got us in this mess. And that's trumps plan tax me and you in the form of tarriffs to make foreign goods as expensive as domestic goods.

If it all goes accordingly, you may need to remove a few letters in your username...  particularly the two "s"'s along with the "r" and the "t"..

Going from 35 to 15 under trump

Regulatory reform already part of his platform

Trump has advocated using tariffs as a putative measure against countries that cheat steal our property or have protectionist policies against us. The bulk of his proposal is making this the most attractive business environment in the world, something we both agree needs to happen.

He's cutting and simplifying the income tax rates and code. I wish for consumption tax as well but the electorate isn't ready for that.

... 1.) dynamic scoring vs. Static scoring.

2.) I said trade deficit not fiscal deficit.

nit picking for your perspective versus clear coating your opposition makes your argument awful no matter how much you try to explain it...
