His strong suit is run-stopping but he had 6 sacks from the interior as well... If you attribute that to him lining up with Young, well guess what, he will be flanked by Josh Allen and Chaisson.

Our run-stopping AND pass-rushing will benefit mutually with this pick.

Seems like a huge reach to fill a need.  Quincy Williams all over again.  Looks like they want a nose tackle to eat up space and blockers.  Sounds good in theory but why not get him in the 4th round and not early 3rd?

Because Dave had sources tell him that Hamilton wouldn't be there in the fourth round, and Hamilton was the last player they felt had starting potential at DT.

Have I about got the usual reasons covered for Dave's annual third round reach?

For the record, I gave Quincy Williams an "F" grade and I don't give that grade lightly.  He was a guy projected to go undrafted.  I think this pick is a different scenario.  He's a role player.  His knock is pass rushing, but he was (presumably) drafted as a rush stuffer where he excels.  I like taking an every down player over a role player, but it's a role that was a desperately needed.  I can at least see the argument for him.

They believe the line was better in the past than observers believe, and they believe the group will improve this season – particularly with left tackle Cam Robinson continuing to return to full health following his 2018 torn anterior cruciate ligament. I think the Jaguars' decision-makers like the line enough that they would start Robinson, left guard Andrew Norwell, center Brandon Linder, right guard A.J. Cann and right tackle Jawaan Taylor next season. I think if it came to a situation that the best player available early in the draft was a left tackle, the Jaguars might select that player. I don't think they feel compelled to take an offensive lineman early to the degree they might feel compelled to take defensive tackle, cornerback and wide receiver.

Tape? I'm talking about the games. Did you not see Minshew literally running for his life almost every game? I mean c'mon man lol. It's a pathetic line, and HOPING (because that's what the Jags are doing) that it's going to turn average... is a bad decision IMO. 

I think that QB is the most important position in the game. Way ahead of any other position, but next up in my personal opinion is O-line. No QB can be good without an O-LINE. Get your guy... protect him. Fill out roster after that. That's my idea.

You're not finding a guy like that just floating around in FA. Guys big and strong enough to be an effective run stuffer up the middle are few and far in between.

You can bring anyone in on the cheap. Doesn't mean they have the ability to be effective.

Effective guys in that role cost big bucks just like Dareus.

But I understand if you want the guys on Kipers Board and all that.

THERE IS NO 3rd ROUND ROOKIE GUARD THAT IS BETTER THAN WHAT WE HAVE NOW. The drop off between a good Guard and an average to below average guard ain’t that much.

I like the pick. I actually love what we’ve done so far. Needs are being filled and we’re moving forward with what we have.

It all comes down to QB play anyways.

This is just a dishonest take. I don't understand your obsession with "Top 100 picks" athletic guys that are 320 lbs. don't grow on trees, sure you can find a DT for 2 million in FA that's 320 lbs. but is he going to be young or athletic like Hamilton?
