Defensive Scheme

#41

Quote:Bradley said a few times "we're an 8-man front defense."

If that's the case I'd love to hear his or Wash's explanation on how we were run on so easily.

Haha exactly what I was thinking.

Quote:Should also be noted that this is the first time Wash has been calling plays in the NFL. Not an easy thing to get the hang of right off the bat.

then don't Fing hire him

Quote:Gus is either to dumb or stubborn to make the necessary adjustments. Obviously this scheme isn't working. Hasn't worked for 3 years. I dont understand why we wont change it

He said it himself last year.

"We tried everything, I don't know what else to do."

He should've been fired that day.

What choice did he have? A good NFL coach stopped by and was all "naw, brah..."

8 professional football players in the box and they crushed it down our throats.

Including: the 3rd overall all pick last year, a $90m DT, a big end who's sole job is to stop the run for $8.5/year, a run stuffing MLB, an OTTO who's job it is to set the edge, and a box safety geared towards run stopping.

Just unbelievable.

What I don't get is, you know how some teams are good against cover 3. Why can't we do something else besides run cover 3 all game when it's not working.

Gus response: "Yeah man you know man, I saw a lot of good things out there man. Just gotta watch the tape and clean things up. But uh, push pop or chocolate eclair man? Cyp, get this man a push pop and play my music man, its a good oppotuny for music and dance man."

Because cover 1 and cover 3 is the whole scheme we use. It relies on getting pressure quickly and we weren't doing that. Therefore, a guy like Rivers will rip it to shreds with the underneath throws or one-on-one coverage. Especially, without a quicker MLB.

However, against the Packers we weren't necessarily rushing Rodgers. Just containing him. This tells me that the bottom line is that Amukamara's presence on the field is a necessity at this point. Our rushers are young and need a bit more time so our secondary needs to cover a little bit longer. House has not been doing that well 2 games in. Gratz surely didn't help.

I was all in for Schwartz but he saw Goosey Loosey for what he is and thus wouldn't sign.

What a terrible excuse that is. We're not the JU dolphins. We are a professional NFL team.

There's only 32 defensive coordinator positions in the entire NFL. We used to have guys like Mike Smith as defensive coordinator. any team can attract a better defensive coordinator.

Are you kidding me?
