Chark Fractured Ankle

#41

This injury sucks because DJ has been open a bunch and It would have been just a matter of time before he and TLaw would start connecting often.
More so now that the coaching staff remembered they are allowed to run James Robinson.
I think chark would have had big numbers in the second half of the season.

Very sad for this season but I’m not sure Chark was coming back next year regardless.

I’m hoping for ARob or Godwin but they need to find a true #1 for TLaw. Cards went out and got Hopkins for Murray. The Bills got Diggs for Allen. Although it hasn’t quite worked out, the Browns went and got OBJ for Baker. Be aggressive.

Do you think Godwin is that good?

He’s only 25 so I don’t think he’s even hit his peak yet. He’s consistently open and extremely reliable.

I don’t think he’s as good as Diggs or Hopkins but he’s really good.

Godwin consistently finds separation against number ones opposite of him and his catching is top-tier imo. Add to that him being young and he's going to find a lot of interest if he doesn't re-sign with the Bucs.

Godwin's a damn good WR.  He would be a huge get for our offense

Evans and Brown draw the top DBs. Godwin is a complementary slot guy.

Actually you're right with that assessment.

I was also thinking back before they brought Brown and it was just him and Evans. He's as sure-handed a receiver that there is from what I've seen the past few years.

Exactly. Godwin is not a #1 WR.

You know people said that about Diggs too? That he wouldn’t be as good without Thielan.

And they said that about Harden when he left the Thunder.

Sometimes you don’t know until it happens. I would easily take the chance on Godwin given his age and production up until this point.

Exactly... The guy produces regardless of who's playing alongside him.

He has continuously produced even before Tampa went all out bringing in their new weapons on offense - and thats a testament to his versatility as well.

Regardless??? He's NEVER played without better receivers around him.

You can have multiple players who are good play on the same team y'know? Its not a mutually exclusive event.

I know the Jags suck and the lack of talent on this roster has taken its toll on most of us but damn...

I'll take whatever we can get. Also an interesting TE FA class.

Sure, but let's be honest in the evaluation of what he's been so far. He's not Tampa's #1 and he's had the benefit of that. He might be a good #2, but he hasn't been that yet either. He's their slot guy on a team with about 6 really good receiving options and productive in that scheme. He also had a problem with drops last year and is not a big guy at 6'1" and 210lbs. Can he be a 1 here? Maybe. Would I add him? For the right price.

Man, everyone knew Diggs was the real deal. Ain't no one trading a 1 to get Chris Godwin.

I'm reading this and have to imagine we were saying the same things about Julius Thomas.

I am not saying Godwin is a scrub, but he's in the perfect place for a WR that wants to put up numbers.

Or he might take a one-year prove-it deal to stay in an offense he knows with an ascendant QB.
