Not saying that, it wouldn't shock me if Stingley turned out to be the best corner in this draft.  I like Gardner and Stingley both alot.  2 of the best corners to come out in a while imo.

1,891 snaps at DE for Hutchinson in his time at Michigan. 17.5 sacks, 27.5 TFL in 4 seasons. 

"Walker played 200 snaps as a backup in 2020, per Pro Football Focus. He had 37 of his career 65 college tackles last season. As a junior, he played 381 snaps at defensive end, 105 at defensive tackle, 98 at linebacker, 11 at nose guard and one as a cornerback, according to the NFL Network."

Can't find his snap count as a freshman for whatever reason, but based on the stats above it's pretty safe to assume he's played close to half as much football as Aidan Hutchinson, And on top of that he was not rushing the passer 100% of the time like Aidan was.

Yet, 17.5 sacks in nearly 2,000 snaps is "production" whilst 9.5 in what I would assume to be somewhere in the range of 500-700 snaps of rushing the passer, presumably less than that even looking at how Georgia played defense is considered "not producing"

It took Aidan Hutchinson 22 games to get 3.5 sacks as a pure pass rushing DE. It took Travon 29 games to get 9.5, whilst being a backup in each of his first two seasons and only just this year being a starter whilst also not rushing the passer 100% of the time. 

Hutchinson had one good year stats wise, How is this a sure fire pick? I think we made the correct choice here.

To this I Concur. Not to mention the fact that Walker is So Much Better against the run and he can drop back into pass coverage Much Better as well. That's 3 for Walker and 1 for Hutch. Walker will be the better overall NFL player going forward.

I don't play Madden anymore, but a few years back I did and something myself and a lot of people used to do was take your fastest Dl/Pass rusher and put them in QB Spy if the opponent was running vick/lamar etc. Kinda reminds me of how they used Walker at Georgia lol

I mentioned this before the draft and Pederson mentioned it yesterday in an interview, but I really think the decision came down to scheme fit and how Campbell envisioned using Walker. Once Doug and Trent signed off on that and sold Khan on it... easy decision.

Versatility, athleticism, and scheme combined slid Walker above Hutch in value.

Total Bust.  Since he'll likely be dropping back into pass coverage, I'm going to require 15 sacks + at least 3 ints in a single season.  After all, the dude did play CB back in college.  I'm thinking of 12 sacks and 2 ints per season through his initial 5 years then sign him to a long term contract for something like +5 years for a total of $40 million ($8m/year) or something like that.

I'm done hyperventilating. I think his floor is much higher than I anticipated. He won't be a bust. 

I hope to see Lloyd lined up outside a lot this season to minimize Chaisson and get Muma on the field more. Cisco needs to be starting, too. The young guns need to play.

I think on passing downs we'll be seeing a lot of Muma and Foye at ILB, Lloyd and Allen on the EDGEs, with Walker and Smoot at DE and Key at NT. There will probably be some growing pains with a lot of inexperience on the field, but with some developing it could be a very good pass rushing front 7.
