2017 Mock Draft Thread

CBS Sports has us picking 3rd overall:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/...bucs-jets/ ![]() <p style="margin-left:0px;font-size:16px;">Leonard Fournette , RB, LSU Tigers : At least through the first three games, the Jaguars' 1-2 punch of T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory at running back has been a failure, with the club currently ranking 31st in the NFL with an average of just 51 rushing yards per game. Fournette is a freakish talent, boasting the most exciting combination of size, speed and power since Adrian Peterson . We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Fan Sided has us picking 12th
http://fansided.com/2016/10/06/2017-nfl-...rnette/12/ Dalvin Cook It’s hard to determine where they Jacksonville Jaguars are at right now. They just got their first win of the season, but it was far from easy and it came against a Colts team that is really struggling. Head coach Gus Bradley knows he cannot afford another down year. Expectations were for this team to compete for at least a .500 record and maybe even a playoff spot. At 1-3 both of those potential goals look like long shots. <p style="margin-left:0px;"> <p style="margin-left:0px;">Part of why the Jaguars are struggling is a lack of balance on offense. The team is ranked an abysmal 31st in the league, averaging just 75.2 yards per game rushing. Neither T.J. Yeldon nor the recently returned Chris Ivory have solved the problem. This has forced Blake Bortles to throw more often and also the defense to be on the field longer. It’s not an easy way to win games in the NFL. Hence why they haven’t done much of that. <p style="margin-left:0px;">Given the strength of the running back class in 2017, it is an opportune time for the Jaguars to get somebody who might be able to change their fortunes. Dalvin Cook has pretty much carried a rough Florida State team the past two years. He’s a strong and tough runner who can go between the tackles but is even better as a receiver. Get him the ball in open space and let him do his thing, which is often making defenders look silly.
Walter has us picking 5th in a 2 rounder
http://walterfootball.com/draft2017.php <p style="margin-left:0px;">image: http://walterfootball.com/images/fball/j...b_logo.gif <b>Jacksonville Jaguars: Jonathan Allen, DE/DT, Alabama</b>Despite their six sacks of Andrew Luck, the Jaguars don't pressure the quarterback consistently. They have some promising edge rushers in Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue, and while they could strengthen that position, they could also stand to bolster the interior of the defensive front. Jonathan Allen is currently No. 3 on our 2017 NFL Draft Big Board, as he has been dominant this year. <b>Jacksonville Jaguars: Ethan Pocic, C/G, LSU </b> The Jaguars are trying Luke Joeckel at guard, but it doesn't appear as though he's cutting it there either. They'll have to spend an early selection on an upgrade.
I would be ecstatic with the above mock draft. Allen can play that big end spot on run downs and slide inside on passing downs. Pocic is a starter day 1 at LG.
Draftteck has us picking 6th
http://www.drafttek.com/2017-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round1.asp 6 Jacksonville ![]() ![]() Jabrill Peppers Michigan S Reach/Value: +1 Height: 6'0" Weight: 208 Alternate Pick #1 Jamal Adams Alternate Pick #2 Roderick Johnson <p style="font-family:'San-Serif', Arial, Verdana;font-size:13px;">The London Jaguars win for the second straight year. They'll be playing games there until at least 2020, and maybe permanently thereafter. Jaguars (the car) are still manufactured in the UK today, so maybe the Brits have a natural affection toward the team based on the nickname.Like last year, the Jags were fortunate to come away with a win. Give Bortles and Co. credit for converting opportunities, but the Colts handed the Jags a grab bag of gifts. The team was finally able to run the ball to some degree. Prior to today, the Jags averaged 55 ypg, good for 31st in the NFL. Against the not-so-good Colts "D", the Jags got 100 yards from their RBs, and another 36 from QB Bortles. At least for one week, the running game goes from awful to "middling". Congrats! We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
SaturdayBlitz has us picking 6th overall
http://saturdayblitz.com/2016/10/03/2017...-week-5/5/ <div>5 LEONARD FOURNETTE RB, LSU </div> <p style="margin-left:0px;">Sorry Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon, but when Leonard Fournette is on the board, it’s going to be hard for the Jacksonville Jaguars to pass up on him. Ivory is 28 and been dealing with an undisclosed illness to start the season while Yeldon has yet to look like a legitimate starting running back at the next level. <p style="margin-left:0px;">The LSU prospect is the complete package at running back. He has the speed, vision, acceleration and size at 6’1” and 235 pounds. He isn’t afraid of contact and has a vicious stiff arm. The only concern with Fournette heading into the NFL is his ankle injury which he’s been playing on for the majority of this season. An ankle isn’t the biggest problem, but scouts will still do their due diligence on him. <p style="margin-left:0px;">Fournette could give the Jaguars that complete running back to take some pressure off of Blake Bortles and the passing game. Sure, the Jaguars could also go with a defensive player here, but how can you pass up on who many are considering the best running back prospect in the past few years?
Peppers or Fournette are the top 2 guys I want as well. Fournette could change the offense and the addition of Peppers at SS could make this defense elite
I believe in Ivory/Yeldon so I don't want cook or Fournette. I'd be down with Peppers,Robinson,Allen, any other good OL,Adams, etc

I wonder if Peppers is off the board and Tabor is still available if we Dave looks that way? If we dont resign Prince I think it is a real possibility. We have never had 2 shut down corners. Those 2 could possibly challenge any of the corner tandems in history. Another pick that could help make this D elite
If our run game picks up and Peppers is off the board Tabor is would be next on my board. Of course to early to tell how the rest of the season plays out but 2 shut down corners sound nice
I think Cook will be the best RB in this class.
Would love Peppers but I'd like a trade back to pick up the best interior lineman too. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Tabor hasn't had the best year though, not saying he's not good but probably played himself out of where we are drafting. Is the hooker guy any good from OSU? Also,is King guy from Iowa balling again this year?

Although I think Marks' contract might be up but with Jones, Miller, Jackson, Day, and Bennett. They have more than enough DT's
Here is my mock draft.
Assumptions: - Gus is fired (yay!!!). New schemes are brought in. - Cyp not brought back - Joeckel not brought back - Prince is resigned - Based on current record and SOS, we are picking 6th overall Round 1 Jamal Adams SS, LSU- With Fournette and Peppers off the board, Adams finalizes the secondary. Despite the coaching, the D is performing much better than anyone expected this early in the season. I expect this group to compete for the coveted "elite" title in 2017. Adams will certainly help that. Round 2 Ethan Pocic G, LSU- Back to back Tigers. This offseason will be about upgrading the Oline. Pocic starts from day 1 at LG. Round 3 Conor McDermott OT, UCLA- Parnell has regressed. McDermott enters camp as the backup but will compete to take the starting job away. Parnell either gets it together or loses his job. This adds 2 quality (young) linemen to a group that is struggling mightily in the run game. Round 4 Dalvin Tomlinson DT, Bama- Big body DT to help stuff the opponents run game. Miller is up there in age (+ injury) and Jones is meh. Round 5 Corn Elder CB, Miami- With Prince resigning yet with a history of injuries, Elder is a nice insurance policy. Undersized, but very physical, Elder steps in as the dime CB. Can help in the return game despite Miami not using him there. Round 6 Luke Falk QB, Wash St- Henne is released allowing open competition for the #2 QB job. Round 7 Greg Pyke G, UGA- Adds depth and competition for Cann. |
