What is the value of comparing his INT% to QBs that played in different eras? Not to mention they sustained that success over the course of their careers and not for just one season. Bortles INT% is currently 19th in the league.

Well he included Manning and Brees, and 19th in the league is about average...not bad at all for a big-play gunslinging QB.

You say he overthrew Hurns late in the game. But what about the tight thread-the-needle pass he made to Hurns in the third quarter to set up the first touchdown? Very few QBs can make that play.


The thing that hurt Blake was the defense's inability to get the Falcons off the field. How many series did the Jags have in the fourth quarter?

Aikman CAREER rate is 3.0%

Peyton Manning CAREER rate is 2.7%

Elway CAREER rate is 3.1%

 

 

He's only 23; that's remarkable to be at 2.6% with as many shots as he takes downfield vs. game managers. His turnovers aren't an issue at all for a 2nd year player. 

 

I know I dont get it if Blake wasnt so elusive, fast for his size, and able to throw on the run this team's OLine wouldve caused way more sacks, turnovers, etc.

 

He's improved so much from his rookie year to this season that he should only be receiving praise from fans but the whining about INTs really?

Where is all the whining that should occur about how bad this team is against the Pass? The cornerbacks seem to get a huge pass for some reason.

There is NO help for Bortles. He must be PERFECT in all 38 passes for the Jags to win. There are a lot of ignorant posters on this board but the bottom line is:

 

The Jaguars defense is 30th in the NFL at 27.1 points per game given up. They suck. It's the WORST in Jags history.

 

The Texans defense gives up 21.5 ppg and they are going to the playoffs. That's the difference. Bill O'Brien is a better coach than Gus Bradley. 

 

 

27.1 ppg defenses DO NOT make the playoffs. Doesn't matter is Bortles, Peyton Manning, Johnny Unitas, Brett Farve, or Jesus is QB.
