Quote:They allow incidental contact on slides all the time, which is exactly what that was.  The defender just kind of fell on him, and gingerly at that.

The last 2 weeks, however, Bortles has taken obvious, deliberate head shots that weren't called.  This one, even on the replay I found myself agreeing with the no-call.

I still think the worst officiating issue this season so far was "The Clock is Fine" moment when they basically gave the Jets a good minute and a half to decide if they wanted to challenge the Hurns catch or not.  Then you combine that with the Walters REVIEWED "incomplete" pass... ugh.

There have been HORRID calls all year.
The refs holding an official conference,(actually just standing around) waiting to see if the jets wanted to challenge made me seriously question if the game was rigged and they had money on the game. That wasn't just a bad call, that was something else entirely. It was ludicrous. They knew what they were doing, examining a clock that was working perfectly, the fans knew, everyone knew, and it really should be investigated by the league office. Something was wrong there, bad wrong.

The Walters "catch" was not so cut and dried on when his feet left the turf, it could have went either way depending on what team you like..I don't gripe about calls like that. The examination of the working clock system was on a completely different level of corruption I have never seen before.

Quote:I still can't figure out how a defensive tackle gets a holding call....

I don't think anybody can figure that out. If it was the right call we would see it all the time.

Quote:You cannot restart the game clock after a delay of game penalty, or else the team with the ball could run out the clock without ever running a play!

You are making no sense here. How can they keep playing the game if the clocks are never restarted? Of course they are restarted after the ball is spotted for the next play regardless of what the penalty is.

Shame we can't bench the refs during the game.

LOL Unfortunately all 17 officiating crews would get benched.
