Keep Gus

Quote:Roman made Kaepernick look like Randall Cunningham. That alone makes him worth a look imo. OK... But could it be argued that Harbaugh had a hand in that as well? Just saying, I'm not high on Roman... He was supposed to get a HC gig like 3 year ago, he was one of the hotter commodities, but for some reason nobody pulled the trigger on him. It just gives me pause is all... We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:OK... But could it be argued that Harbaugh had a hand in that as well? Quote:BB5 went from having Fish as his OC to Olsen. He's progressing nicely. OC Olson isnt a bad OC but he isnt a good one either.. he's just average to slightly below... He'll get the offense yards & points at times but some of his play calling had me scratching my head... same thing you saw in Oakland last year... JDR Is a much better HC than Mularkey & Bradley put together... but he was fired because the owner wanted to go in a different direction (you know from winning to losing). The new GM fired Mularkey after a disapointing season.. hmm he had like 4 wins too didnt he? Gus went from 4 to 3, and now has 2 maybe he'll get two more.. to you know tie Mularkeys four... Another year.. seems like insanity (you know doing the same thing year after year expecting different results...) look i was really hoping gus would be this great HC we had all hoped for but he isnt, he just isnt.. I hope he proves me wrong (you know like in this regular season & not wait to watch another 4 win season next year).. he needs to pull off like six wins for me to say he should stay... fact is he has the team built the way he wanted... three years in the works with Free Agents, draft picks... they didnt have to gut the team they chose to do that..
Quote:Not going to be popular among many, but I think we should keep Gus another year. A few weeks ago, like many, I was calling for him to be fired. The frustration week after week and another season of failure gets overwhelming at times. However, many of the games we have lost have not been because of coaching, they have been because of players. At SOME point we have to point the finger at the players not competing at the level they are getting paid at. Has Gus made some bonehead calls? Absolutely. Has he made decisions that hurt the club? You betcha. But I also see HUGE improvements taking place within this team. It's not Gus's fault that Blake has thrown 9 INT's (many of them stupid throws and a few more deflections). It's not Gus's fault that the secondary cannot catch a pass. It's not Gus's fault that receivers are dropping passes that are right in their chest. It's not Gus's fault that players are muffing punts or missing field goals. Players need to perform, period. The losses are piling up but so are the positive stats. We have a young team that does not have much experience in many stressful situations like redzones and 2 minute drives. They are gaining valuable experience each week and I think this will be a strong team by the end of the season. Many of our players are strong NFL leaders in their positions. We just have to keep working on finishing. That's just as much on the players as it is the coaches. You put all the weights on players performance but you didn't point out one single good thing that Gus did to deserve another chance.
Gus a good coach. I can see him being our Marvin Lewis, save for we win it all.

Quote:Gus a good coach. I can see him being our Marvin Lewis, save for we win it all. lol In Lewis' first 3 years he went 8-8, 8-8, and 11-5. Quote:The GOAT has spokenThe sad thing is assuming we decide to fire Bradley, I'm sure Payton would want to go where he has the chance to work with a good young QB. He could have that chance in two other places within the division with Luck and Mariota, in addition to working with Bortles. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
If Gus is actually let go as the HC, can we really do worse then Gus as a HC?
For example, maybe hire some college coach that just flat out bombs as an NFL HC? I know right now it looks like it won't be hard to do better then Gus as a HC, but could they somehow find a guy who turns out to be even worse then 9-31 Bradley? Is that even possible?
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Another 4th quarter meltdown as buffoon Gus stands there with a dopey look on his face. Putting undrafted rookies in critical spots in the game as a "learning opportoony" because getting better and learning from mistakes is more important than winning. The sooner we get rid of Gus and his country club atmosphere the sooner this talented team starts winning games. We will never win games with Gus loosey goosey Bradley.
Make the Jags Great Again
Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED! Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED!

Quote:I dont see how you can say by getting rid of Gus will set our team back. Lol, when youcan go out there and get an ugrade at head coach you do it. Trust me, there is an upgrade out there As long as the new coach doesn't insist on tearing everything up and starting over. |
