No doubt. But the players were not lazy today is what I was responding to.  Coaching is another story.

bounces don't come your way just because of odds...  Not in sports.  You have to earn your bounces.  Luck is preperation and opportunity meeting.  Did you never play any sport at a competitive level?

 

I never got "lucky".  I worked hard and was ready when the opportunity presented itself.  This team has no idea what hard work is.  This is a lazy, lacksidasical team that just assumes things will go thier way.  They "Believe" in victory.  But they have no concept on how to be winners.

 

It's so simple, it's all about the lack of true leadership.  This roster is full of talent, but they have a loser that doesn't know how to prepare them to win.  It's pretty simple stuff...

 

I have no issue with people calling for the head of Gus Bradley.  He has earned it with some bad decisions and his record.  This one wasn't on the coaching though.  Gus Bradley can't magically make Joeckel and Poz recover fumbles or catch the ball for Marshall.  He can't make the refs change their minds.

 

On a side note, I got pretty miffed when I saw one of the refs laughing at Gus when Gus was p/o'd at them about the Walters review.  Thought it was incredibly smug and disrespectful by the ref.

 Anchorman you are posting nonsense. Nobody looked LAZY out there. Except maybe Thomas. Poz slides over a ball, it's just luck how it ends up because it's not a round ball. Sometimes you do make your luck, and sometimes the ball just rolls the wrong way. It wasn't a bad game by the Jags, C'mon man.

 

Granted, you are correct.  They don't look lazy.  They look out of position at the most critical times.  They look like the game is too big for them at the most critical times.  When things need to be executed perfectly at the most critical times, we fail to execute.

 

But that's the point, in my mind.  The coaching is lazy.  The coaching is lacksidasical.  If the coaching was on point, if the coaching was intense and demanded perfection, we would not have errors at the critical moments of a game.

 

That's what I'm really talking about.

 

Yes, this team is not quiting.  This team has heart.  The coaches just do not have the desire to truelly prepare this team.  The mistakes this team makes are just unacceptable.  Teams that win don't make the type of mistakes we make.  They don't make those types of mistakes because the coaches force them to be perfect.  I think our coaches don't have that type of mentality.  Perfection is not a priority for the coaches.

 

Thus when they practice, "good enough" is just fine.  And when you practice "good enough", when you get into the critical moments of a tight game you fail.  You are not perfect.  You do not execute,  You run a play.  

 

You don't execute a play.  

 

We see failure on sunday because the coaches failed the players Monday through Saturday.  Gus needs to be fired.  We need a perfectionist to get us to wins.  Not a cheerleader.

I still don't think Gus is the guy to lead this team but today wasn't on him. Costly turnovers and some bad bounces really cost this team.

I think a Superbowl would probably do it, or maybe consecutive years in the AFC championship game. 

Probably consecutive years in the championship would have to be the primer to just a legitimate SB win. If we just happened to have a Cinderella year and got to the SB we'd still be trashed. If we got to the championships several years in a row with a SB run in there it might turn a few heads.

Gus has to act more like a head coach. He needs to work the refs. Our receivers were getting abused without the defender playing the ball but you never saw Gus in the earhole of the refs. 

 

No Gus can't make the tackle or recover the fumbles, but he darn sure has the ability to affect how his team practices these attributes. He also has the ability to call the timeout just before the 2 minute warning to save precious seconds. You know you are going to use the timeout to stop the clock, you might as well use it to get to a 3rd down at the 2 minute warning.

 

Time for Gus to jump on the out of town bus.

Walters was slammed for his lack of explosiveness and Gus was attacked for putting him in,  now it's a mistake to put Marshall in after also watching his explosive return earlier?  He made a HUGE mistake but to throw it all on him is just frustration because you saw a competitive team that played winning football lose because of experience and mistakes.  

 

We do have talent but who's blaming Sullivan for the drops today?  The dropped int by sergio and poz losing the football are player error, or else fire the db and lb coaches.  We looked very improved today but those cracks start showing up that keep allowing other teams to squeeze out the W whether they're good or bad.  

 

Anyone comparing this loss to the others this year are grasping for straws.  The mistakes are similar and the run blocking is still in the cellar, but the team played Quality Winning football against a top defense.  Not to mention playing slightly better defense ourselves overall minus the few big play errors and officiating.

Wow. You mad bro? :woot:  I happen to have confidence in the owner... or perhaps I should say, I have confidence in human nature. If we finish this season looking like horses butts again, Khans ego is going to take exception to it, no matter what he previously said. He is a business man, and he isn't going to let his 'toy' get managed by someone who isn't producing the desired outcome forever.

 

In the mean time, I can't honestly say that I would blame 100% of the mistakes we witnessed on the field today on coaching. Players have to make plays; they know not to throw interceptions, or fumble; and they know they must recover fumbles that seem to fall right to them. Realize the jets have a very good defensive line, and what we saw in those match ups shouldn't have been a shock. 

 

All any coach can do is teach. It's up to the players to 'do'. Ours ain't gettin'er done....yet.

Actually I was surprised the game was as close as it was.  After the first quarter you got the sense that things were slipping away and despite all the dumb things this team did, they had multiple shots to win it.

To clarify ivory first down is blown dead at 2:09 giving second and 6


The run off is 9 seconds here saved if we call a timeout but leaves us with 40 seconds after third down


Gus has made some bad decisions this wasn't one of them


As it goes we were consistent throughout the game and I thought we looked good but mistakes by players cost us
