It's the little brother syndrome.  Memphis is filled with Ole Miss fans... it's only an hour away and the best place for good jobs when you graduate from Oxford.  I think it has more Ole Miss alums than any other city in the country.  There or Jackson probably.  I'm sure all the locals who went to Memphis hate hearing about Ole Miss.  And it's basically their Super Bowl.  But Ole Miss never really cares.  Just so happens this year that Memphis is actually pretty good.  I bet they'll be ranked top 20 in both polls after this.

 

It's the same with Tennessee and Vandy.  Tennessee couldnt care less, but for Vandy it's the biggest game of the year.  Mich-Mich St.  It's not Michigan's biggest game of the year but it is Michigan St's.  Right or wrong Im not debating but it's just the reality.

btw Memphis' QB is pretty good.  I had heard his name mentioned as being a potential NFL prospect but have never seen him until now.  Didnt realize this but he is a Florida boy too.  Played high school in Deltona.  Only a junior.  Is completing 70% of his passes this season.  Gotta love the size.  6"7 240.  And isnt a complete statue at that size either.

Did anyone else think the wrong Michigan player was ejected? I saw one guy clearly target Connor Cook and a different player was tossed for accidental contact. Stupid referee.

That Michigan game just kills me inside.  Gotta feel for those michigan kids!  Especially the idiot punter...  Just a heart breaker.

 

On the up side, Michigan has a really good HC that is probably gonna win a national championship for them in the next few years.  I'm happy that they are back!  They were always my favorite college team to watch on Saturdays.  But man, this loss stinks for them!
