I had never heard that "Batted ball rule." Players do that all the time and it is never called. Why is that even a rule?

 

 

I get the logic behind it but I've never seen that before and didn't know that rule exists.

 

It's an old rule that stems from the Holy Roller play of Raider-Chargers fame. The idea is that you cannot "move" a fumble down the field, either fall on it or pick it up and run.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

That can be debatable. They've played 3 out of 4 games on the road and 2 of them were in the playoffs last year. Their largest margin of defeat is 12 points. Their record is worse, but their roster is better.

And all that matters in the win/loss record.
