Joining Camp Solomon Thomas

Quote:He can play edge rusher completely fine. If teams pass on him thinking he can't then they are stupid and their draft analysis process is extremely flawed. Thomas CAN bend and I've seen him do it several times in a game against tackles, and his 3 cone time backs it up. Go back and watch the tape, if you don't feel like it I can post it for you. Thomas could have easily been a pure edge rusher at Stanford but they used him inside because that's how he could best help his team.

He will probably rush from the inside on 3rd downs anyway

Quote:6.95 in the three cone. He can bend. His workout wasn't good. It was freakish.

Can he do it against an NFL tackle? Does his game tape match what he did against the cones? (Honest question)

I've seen him beat tackles like a drum on the outside. If he were on this team I would keep him outside most of the time and only move him inside on special packages to get all three of Ngakoue, Fowler, and Thomas out at the same time.

His tape had people talking about him in the top ten before the combine. Second team all American as a redshift sophomore and we see that he has every athletic trait you look for in a pass rusher.

How long will it take him to develop before he can make an impact like Fournette, Lattimore or Adams immediately will? We gonna have to wait a good few years?

Thats what I think they'd try to do.

Safeties don't make impacts. Lattimore has a chance to show tomorrow.

Pass rushers take time but we've been searching for 12 years

Pass rushers take time so we shouldn't take time with the guys who just played their first full season?

Try to tell the Ravens and Steelers front office that

He's an edge. His closest athletic comp might be Justin Houston.

People will be calling Thomas a bust after his first year.

Or Keanu Neal.

I wouldn't mind him at 4. I'd rather have Allen but I like both.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

Can Myles Garret? And yes it does.

You can also see his ability to bend against guards when he's rushing on the inside

Thomas has all the traits of an edge rusher. It really just speaks more to how good he is that he can also legitimately play on the inside so well Stanford put him there because he was also their best interior rusher.

Also problems in pursuit?

Did someone just say Lattimore would have an immediate impact? Rookie corners have just as much of a curve as pass rusher. Look at all the corners from last year and that was supposed to be a really good corner class. The only one who was really good was Ramsey and he didn't really come on as far as being a playmaking difference until towards the end of the season.
