Drob to miss several weeks

Quote:Toiby Gerhart moved to fullback because he sucks at tailback. Why do you think we got Corey Grant, who is obviously a better runner than Gerhart?
Grant landed on the 53 Man Roster to be an kick returner first and a RB second. If it depended on his RB skills, he would'nt on the 53 Man Roster...

Yes he has plenty of speed to burn but remember that he went undrafted w/all that speed. He's more suited for the returner position but I do admit that if you give him 6' hole, he's an blurr...

Toby will get you short yardage All Day 4-5 yards per. Cory, not so much...

Hate to hear this news about DRob. It's starting to look like his body isn't able to hold up playing RB on the NFL level.

So now the question is: do we draft another RB early next year if TJ proves to be average and DRob being injury prone? Looks like a pretty good crop of RBs are headed to the NFL next year.

Injuries are part of being a running back. Yeldon will get hurt too someday - count on it. How many running backs can you name who were rarely injured in their careers?

DRob finished last year on IR and now 2 games into this season he's hurt again. I realize that RBs get nicked up but the good ones are hurt less often than not. The problem with DRob is that he's still in the early stages of his career and isn't a full time back but yet he's getting injured frequently. Leonard Fournette, and Ezekiel Elliot are going to be available in the draft next year. Caldwell might want to consider drafting one of those guys if they're available.

Sure. If your RBs last name is Peterson, Charles, Forte, Lacy, Lynch etc. You know, RBs with real talent.

Need to trade for Yeldon now

We must utilize Grant in the screen game as well as some run plays. If he see's daylight he will go the distance. What about Toby, will he play next week? We need him back, I like his ability to be consistent on gaining small yardage.

Or he's expected to miss 3 games?

I think that headline is misleading. Several to me gives the feeling of a 5-8 week thing. Not 2-3. Just nitpicking I guess.

Yeah 3 weeks. They compared it to Reynolds injury in the preseason where he missed 2 games and the off week but was back in time for the opener.

We just used our pick at the top of the second round to draft one of the top running backs in the draft. It's two games in and Yeldon has already shown a lot to like, and you're talking about burning another early round draft pick on a running back next year? Do you even football, bro?

Yeah bro and so far Yeldon to me is kinda meh. 2 games in he averaging 3.3 yards per carry with a long of 14 yards behind a supposedly better O line. That's not setting the world on fire. He doesn't look to have break away speed or shiftiness to elude tacklers on the second level. Freddy T and MJD had the look of something special right out of the gate. I'm not seeing that so far with Yeldon. Yes he's had a couple of nice tough runs, but an average back will do that. RB position is the one position that's supposed to translate the fastest going from college to the pros and IMO he so far isn't looking like a special player. Just because he was drafted high that doesn't automatically mean he's a great player. Matt Jones who was drafted after him is tearing it up in DC. I hope I'm wrong about him because I want he to be good, but so far I'm not seeing it.
