Bowanko is backup LT (3rd)

Quote:I secretly was wondering why Bowanko wouldn't be a good idea to use as a stop gap until Luke is 100%.

Sam Young is terrible.  Bowanko can't be any worse than him, and who knows...  right?  I mean the sun has got to shine on our butts at some point, does it not?

The Lions have 1 playoff victory since 1957. When will the sun shine on that dirty bottom?

Quote:Wouldn't it be hilarious if Bowanko just came out as a brick wall playing LT just stonewalling everyone.

I wouldn't say hilarious, it would be AWESOME! Bye Luke!

Quote:It is not a good sign when you are talking about moving backup average Centers to LT!
Its about getting your best players on the field, Bowanko is a nice young player, I rather him out there then Young

Quote:I think Gus has a plan.... and he's trying not to tip his hand. They can't be comfortable with Young at LT.

Obviously he does not want the Dolphins to know what his backup plan is. However, this is nothing new as he did the same thing with linebackers last year.

Quote:PLAY HIM.  Young is going to get blown up on Sunday. If Bowanko is really the next best lineman outside of the top 5 PLAY HIM. Blake is going to get sacked at least 5 times if Young plays at LT all day.

Young will not get blown up at all if Joeckel can play. He is listed as questionable on the injury report. People are acting like Joeckel has already been ruled out.

Quote:We as fans knew it was the weak link of the line.

Wrong. The reason we signed Parnell was we needed a right tackle more than anything else on offense.

So, it's possible that Bo could go from goat at C, to GOAT at LT?!?

Quote:I can't remember where exactly (I'll look), but I recently read that Del Rio said he knew Leftwich was a bust after his rookie season, FWIW.
It's possible. Del Rio was pushing hard for the team to draft Brady Quinn in 2007.

He's talking about the current weak point after all the current personnel had been established.

Was that true before Sunday or only after Joeckel got hurt?

It's been widely agreed that the left side of the line, particularly Joeckel, is/was the weak point of the line since camp began.

But I would "much" rather have Joeckel at LT than Young

Quote:Bradley said he thinks he still needs more work at LT. He isn't ready yet. He said Parnell could move to LT in an extreme case.

Bow has been getting a lot more work at RT. I have to think if Young goes down or gets yanked, that Parnell takes over at LT and Bowanko comes in at RT. That said, I'm hoping Joekel is able to go so it doesn't come down to these kind of moves.

Quote:...And four, and this came later in his tenure, was the way he alienated almost the entire team at once, chasing off two veteran leaders in Mike Peterson and Deon Grant, both guys he had heavily recruited, in the process. Once his back was to the wall in 2009-2010, he went from a laid-back players coach to an absolute drill sergeant, and not only did players not respond, but many lost respect for him...

This really was the beginning of the end. JDR lost his composure and the locker, and the Jaguars have never been the same since. The losses began piling up as of this moment in time, and have continued 'til this day. My hope is that at some point this season the losing comes to an end and the Jaguars arrow starts pointing up.
