Even if he's cut...for the fourth time

The league just discriminates against Tebow for being religious. This cut clearly has nothing to do with his inability to play QB in the NFL.

Gets tiresome having to explain to people that Kahn and Lamping are doing phenomenal and we're very profitable recently, despite our record.
I gave up trying to explain it to some rabid fans up here. I just smile and say, GO GATERRRRS! That annoys them and the subject is dropped.

Both Nick Novak and Caleb Sturgis got cut today. The Scobee trade is looking even more shrewd with some decent kickers hitting the market.

Eric Pinkins | FA

(September 5, 2015 3:34 PM EDT)

Seahawks released LB Eric Pinkins.

Pinkins actually received PFF's third-highest 4-3 outside linebacker grade this preseason but Seattle's depth at that position was simply too much to overcome. The 24-year-old has exceptional speed for a linebacker and could find a home on the Seahawks' practice squad.

Waiver wire pick up? Could be an upgrade to Reynolds or Lotulelei.

Reynolds will likely stick because of his special teams play and Lotulelei still has PS eligibility. Pinkins, George, and Reynolds would be a solid young trio of backups.

You forgot Armbrister. He looks like he has very good long term upside. Reynolds is still hurt I believe and we could sneak Lotulelei on the PS.

@OlindoFL Tebow should be on the sorry excuse for a football team the @Jaguars &the reason he isnt is because of the religion of the owner. What a bunch of idiots. Shad actually likes tebow heck I seem to remember him telling Smith and Mularkey to look into possibly making trade for him before Jets did.

Packers waived WR Jared Abbrederis.

The 2014 fifth-round pick was always on the outside looking in after missing most of training camp with a concussion. He is a candidate for the practice squad.

Antone Smith | FA

(September 5, 2015 4:34 PM EDT)

Falcons released RB Antone Smith with an injury settlement.

Smith had been battling a hamstring injury. Smith is a home run hitter, but is nearly 30, and prone to minor injuries. He'll get another chance, but isn't going to be a big part of anyone's backfield.

For those hard knocks fans:

Quote:Texans get down to 53 players

Kourtnei Brown | FA

(September 5, 2015 4:41 PM EDT)

Texans waived OLB Kourtnei Brown, ILB Max Bullough, S Kurtis Drummond, OT Matt Feiler, C James Ferentz, DE Tevita Finau, S Corey Moore, DE Dan Pettinato, OT Joseph Treadwell and WR Chandler Worthy.

Brown was one of the focuses of this summer's Hard Knocks, but just isn't an NFL-level talent.

Texans waive CB Charles James

Charles James | FA

(September 5, 2015 3:47 PM EDT)

Texans waived CB Charles James.

A Hard Knocks star, James was in the mix for one of the final corner spots. The Texans reportedly shopped James before releasing him, but didn't find any takers. A two-way player, 25-year-old James could resurface with another team.

Quote:Browns admit defeat on fourth-rounder Mayle

Vince Mayle | FA

(September 5, 2015 4:24 PM EDT)

Browns waived WR Vince Mayle.

A fourth-round rookie, Mayle was labeled one of the worst picks of May's draft, and quickly proved his detractors right by turning in an absolutely brutal preseason. A sub-par athlete, Mayle's hands are made of marble. It's a lethal combination for someone trying to play receiver at the highest level of football. The Browns are the worst team in the league at evaluating receiver talent.

Quote:Colts waive former CFL star WR Duron Carter

Duron Carter | FA

(September 5, 2015 4:19 PM EDT)

Colts waived WR Duron Carter.

Carter was a hot free agent name out of the CFL in February, but he could not crack the Colts' deep receiver depth chart, struggling throughout the preseason. Indianapolis would ideally like to stash Carter on the practice squad, but it is not a given he makes it through waivers.
