The punter Kasey Redfern was cut. Why did he get so much love over Brian Anger?

Because his name isn't Bryan Anger

The Packers seriously need to sign Redfern. He blows away their current Punter.

Im a bit surprised Redfern was cut this early. However I dont think any of the others are very surprising.

If Bradley felt that Anger had clearly won the punting job, there was no point keeping Redfern around. I believe Myers did some punting in college, so he could give Anger's leg a break every now and then in practice.

Now that you mention it, "Banger" sounds way better than "Where the Redfern Grows".

I think it was clear that Anger was going to get the job. I don't recall ever seeing Redfern hold for one of the kickers.

Abdominal strain. Should be fine for week one.

Unlike most positions, holders actually do grow on trees.

Just don't think Gus would not have someone other than Anger try it if he didn't plan on someone else doing it in the regular season.

He probably did have other players try in training camp. If he knew a couple of weeks ago that Anger had won the punting job and Redfern was just a camp leg (entirely possible), there probably wasn't any motivation to give anyone else game reps as a holder.

S Matt Daniels was waived/injured today, so we're now one player under the 75 man roster limit.

Perhaps a waiver claim or trade is in the works?
