Im a bit nervous about the start of the season, but I feel as if we should be able to beat the Panthers, but that stretch to kick off the season still seems harsh to me. But lets get some W's

You are a class act, Minorcan. Cheers mate. I'm in. Meanwhile, we'll enjoy these insightful predictions from our psychic/coaches on board.

6-10 is about what I expect. If Bortles stays healthy and we get a running game going, we could possibly win more than 6. I'm keeping my expectations low though because the defense doesn't look good at all. Not enough talent on defense, not enough experience on offense yet.

Double our wins from last year would be reasonable, just play good ball win or lose....and get better.

That would make me happy.

Quote:6-10 and being in games sounds like a realistic season in the sense that we're improving and there's reason to be hopeful. I would take that this year. Anything worse with blowout losses and I am about done with the Gus juice.

Sad that some here have such low expectations. This is the 3rd year of a rebuild and we appear to have a franchise QB. If the Jags aren't competing for a playoff spot in December then Gus needs to go.

I don't agree with that at all.

Maybe it's the teal glasses, but I'm seeing a big jump coming thanks to Bortles' growth and the overall weakness of the schedule in 2015.

vs panthers W  They made it to the playoffs because "someone had to in the NFCS" Jaguars take out the trash to start the season.

vs dolphins  L  Dolphins have some talent, but this one could be a win if Joeckel holds up.

@ pats      W  Brady will be suspended, the rest of the team isn't special.

@ colts     L  It's at the colts, but I think it'll be a better game than we've played against the colts in a few years.

@ bucs     W  Winston is still on his "welcome to the NFL, rookie" tour.

vs texans  W  texans are their usual arrogant cheap shotting selves but they can't help losing because their QB is one of the worst in the league.

vs bills   W  Good defense, but once again the Jaguars win because the QB is the most important position on the field.

@ jets   L  Close road loss.

@  ravens L  Good teams are hard to beat on the road.

vs titans W  Jaguars welcome mariota to Duval, he isn't prepared to be hit.

vs chargers W  Jaguars play two full halves of football against the chargers this season.

@ titans W  Jaguars take out the trash in that dump of a stadium the titans play in.

vs colts L  Jaguars play better, but still aren't ready to take the division over.

vs falcons W  The falcons are still playing for the playoffs, but they can't beat the growing confidence around Bortles.

@ saints W  At this point the saints are being talked about as over the hill and the Jaguars are starting to be the chic pick for playoff upsets.

@texans W  The texans are 6 and 9 heading into the game and flailing at the QB position as they go back and forth between two bad choices. As usual the texans are trying to spear Bortles out of bounds or on the ground.

That's 10-6 and a wildcard playoff berth. Injury to Bortles for an extended period puts the team back closer to 4 or 5 wins with Henne at the helm.

Why are you so sure you'll beat the Panthers? Do you know anything about that team?

we are already leading the league in ijurys, and its only preseason. we probbley have the most injurys  out of all 32  teams espailley to key players. I was hopeing both teams came out of game last night without major injurys. Lions did,but jags didn't. we lost 3 key players from last nights game. allan robbersoon, branch, clay harbor. we seem to be loseing players left, and right again.

snowwolf titans owner in madden.

8-8 or Gus should be fried chicken. I've been saying this all off season, and I won't change my stance no matter how good they look. It's all about wins in year 3 and beyond.

Quote:Who's this Pennington you speak of. Ryan Tannehill is the Miami Qb. Chad Pennington is long gone. like 02 gone. You could work for Espn though

Ugh! I've made this same mistake like a few times too since he was drafted. I'm thinking about Tannehill when I say it, but it comes out Pennington. Pennington wasn't even that good as he had an incredibly weak arm.

I swear ever since I turned 40 (I'm now 43) I've had this issue with meaning one name but typing another.

I don't think that's fair considering last year the greatest swing in wins from the prior year was a four-win difference, and only one team, the Texans, did that. Four more wins from last year would be 7-9. There's no way Khan lets Gus go if he reaches six wins.

Makes plenty of sense to me. You even have us sweeping the Titans, and knowing a few of their fans they'd blow up at the thought. I'd like to think we could win one of our first two games along with the Bucs game to reach my 8-8 prediction, but otherwise I'd say you're spot on. Beating the Falcons and Colts down the stretch amount to hard fought wins, but they are home games and the Jaguars should be much improved by then.
