Depth chart has been released

Quote:This depth chart means absolutely squat right now. @FieldGulls: Chip Kelly on PHI depth chart: “Seriously, I don’t care. I think [PR Director] Derek [Boyko] did it. I mean, it’s absolutely nothing." lol *yup. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Why do some still use a single silo for WRs? It's a numbers game. They talk of keeping 5 or 6 WRs. They don't talk of keeping 3 WR1s and 2 WR2s or anything like that.

Allen hurns is the number 1 wr what.. Is that real or am I seeing things..
If the team is leading towards a Patriot style 12 personnel grouping style offense, then I wonder if they truly will keep that many WRs when they have Lewis, Thomas starting and occasionally Harbor with Koyack as the backup.
I am guessing Allen Robinson, Lewis on the Left side (Luke, Beadles, Bowanko, Linder, Parnell as the line) Thomas, Hurns on the right side. Yeldon, Bortles behind them as the primary setup on most cases. A lot of people say Thomas cant block and doesnt like to but he's a TE and he can & will block when needed which keeps the defense honest if they come out in a Nickel expecting Thomas & Lewis as receivers they will run the ball if they stack the line they will pass the ball. To work Bortles will have to be sharp at the line & Lewis will have to step up his game if not Harbor at receiving. Heck if Lewis & Harbor can improve a 13 personnel might work even better (3 TEs, 1WR, 1 RB) with the three being really good at receiving & blocking. With Doss making it I see more like they're keeping 5 WRs plus their PR who happens to be a WR.

Is that real or am I seeing things..Robinson. ![]() The interesting bit to me is the "co-starters" at Center and RB Jags not ready to name a clear starter at either position Same with McCray/Colvin at CB. Quote:It's a numbers game. They talk of keeping 5 or 6 WRs. They don't talk of keeping 3 WR1s and 2 WR2s or anything like that. So? It's not hard to figure out. Actually helps to more easily figure it out. Shows you where you have or lack depth, where it will be needed. To follow up/illustrate: At WR2 they'll probably keep Robinson and Benn certainly. Greene is the wildcard at WR2. At WR1 they'll probably keep Hurns, Lee, and Doss (return) And that's the 5-6. The Greene decision will factor in with what they decide at TE1 and TE2.

Quote:Robinson. You've got that backwards. The #2 role silo begins with Robinson. Those are the possession guys. The #1 role silo begins with Hurns. Those are the speed guys.

Quote:Allen hurns is the number 1 wr what.. Is that real or am I seeing things.. That's correct. It's b/c Lee is currently out, mostly. Though he may hold it, especially if Lee's injuries continue to keep him off the field.

Quote:You've got that backwards. Usually wide receivers are grouped by height and weight. The heavier guys are WR1, and they play the "split end" or X position on the line, and the lighter guys are WR2 and they play the "flanker" or Z position.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

Think of it in terms of Jimmy Smith and McCardell. Robinson leads the McCardell group. Hurns/Lee the Jimmy Smith group. Robinson group finds holes in zone like McCardell did. Hurns/Lee take the top off like Jimmy.

Quote:You've got the philosophy right. But the flanker is not always the "#1." Quote:But the flanker is not always the "#1." #1 describes the role. It does not necessarily designate "best receiver." That's where far too many get confused.

House's starting spot is safe. Cann doing work daily to grab that starting spot sooner rather than later. Alualu should be on the starting lineup with a lot of Bennet and Hood mixed in as rotational players. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! |
