Who is Andrew Luck?

Quote:I think he misinterpreted that article. It was 12overall in league this year.

I misinterpreted his quote. But casserly said he would rank romo, Eli, and flacco ahead of wilson.

That's just silly.

The fact remains he took David Carr number 1 overall. No one is right all the time. This is simply a case of reasonable doubt.

And I have reason to doubt that he is accurate about luck.

Now that we've gotten past the Casserly discussion (hopefully), where would you put Luck as far as young QBs go? Top 5? Top 10? Top 20? Honestly, just curious.

What do you consider young qbs?

Andrew luck is the 3rd best QB this season. Behind Peyton and Philip. I am close to thinking Rivers is playing as a #1 at the moment!

I guess, since the question is related to Andrew Luck, let's say QBs within their first 3 years. For example, I would say that Marino was better as a young QB. Elway had the talent, but was wildly inconsistent in his first few years.

Russell Wilson

Andy Dalton

Andrew Luck

Nick Foles

Cam Newton

Would be my top 5. Outside looking in would be guys like tannehill and kaepernick. Bottom of the list: Blaine gabbert.

Based on that criteria, top 5. With Marino 1. But Luck would be ahead of Manning.

I thought we were just doing recent quarterbacks. You can't compare the old guard to the new one. The differences in rules make it almost impossible.

Also, when a lot of the greats were in their first three years, I was either a young child or not born yet.

Andrew Luck would be in my top 5. Andrew Luck would be my #1 QB choice if I had a 5 year window moving forward.

Not basing my opinion on yards, tds, or ints. Impact on team. Easily Marino was the best. Luck had instant success. Sadly I must include worthlessburger

Based on upside because of his (Luck) physical ability, I'd have a hard time picking between RW and luck if we were looking at a 5 year from now projection.

I'm just going to say that I can't accurately say anything to this because I didn't get to watch some of those guys play in their first three years and actually know what I was watching.

The love for Russel Wilson is beyond me. He is a GOOD quarterback, no doubt. He has good leadership skills, good decision making, very good elusiveness, but he's nowhere near the passer that Luck is. No where near. In 5 games, he's thrown for 978 yards, averaging 195 yards a game. Now ask yourself honestly, if Luck only threw for 978 yards the past 5 games, how many of those games would the Colts have won?

Dalton is a good QB. Again, if you had a choice between Dalton or Luck, who do you choose?

Just know in 1984 his 2nd season Dan Marino threw 48 TD's, won MvP, and led Miami to SB.

Well, if we're addressing Casserly's quote that Luck is the best that he's seen over the last 40 years, then we may have to include them. But for the sake of argument, let's leave them out for now and discuss young QBs currently in the league.

Luck over Dalton. I still see some down field throwin issues with Dalton.

Ummm luck has thrown the ball 260 times to RW's 139.

RW has a very strong arm. He's incredibly accurate. Smart. Mobile. Very good passer on the move as well.

I would venture to say that RW has a better arm than luck and throws a nicer ball.

Based on their first years already in the league I'd take Dalton, based on physical ability and a 5 year projection just based on the chance that luck hasn't peaked, I'd take luck.

I also think I just convinced myself that I'd take RW over luck as well.

Define better arm!
