I hope he is this year's Hurns.

I wouldn't exactly characterize that kind of speed as "sneaky". That's downright "beep beep!" speed.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Preach on Deacon...

I'm rooting for Grant!  I mean I'm not rooting against the other guys but I like Grant's story...

Did Bradley mention him in a presser?

Yes when he was discussing kick/punt returners and running backs.  I'll look for the link

He did, and that's a good thing for Grant.  However, it's still a crowded field at that position, and he's going to have to show an awful lot just to warrant a practice squad spot at this point.  The speed is always intriguing, but that can't be his only asset.   We've had blazing fast guys on the team before who simply couldn't play football.  Getting some recognition from Gus certainly doesn't hurt his chances, but there's a long way to go.  These underwear practices always provide us with camp heroes who seem to disappear when the pads go on.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Speed is not Grant's only asset, but it's a huge one. He's not just 40-time fast, but he's football fast in uniform. Few in this league even compare with that kind of speed, but Grant also also exceptional hands. Bradley, btw, has now mentioned him multiple times. The only other UDFA I've heard mentioned multiple times is Thurston Armbrister at LB.

I for one am very excited to see what Grant can do as a Jaguar this season... and I'm expecting him to make a splash like Hurns did last year.

Still has to beat some Ok returns out! I hope he does because it is one position on the team that is WIDE OPEN!

Quote:I am predicting that eventually Grant, Storm, or Pierce takes the 3rd string RB spot (after Yeldon and Denard). There is somewhat of an affinity for Toby Geardown with the coaching staff, so it won't come easy, but I believe he will eventually get outplayed, and others will get their chance. I'm excited to see if Grant could be that guy. He appears to have the desire to show the coaches he can do everything.
Gerhart will be our power back/full back this season...

Indeed, I expect to see him quite often as part of a 2-back set with TJ...think split back as opposed to the I.

You keep hyping this thread up? Lol, I'm gonna ride that train too. I'm hoping that he exceeds expectations and plays all season with a chip on his shoulder. This kid passes the eye test, just need to see it in teal and black...and gold...and black matte.

Bump for no other reason than I like GRANT and his speed!

Why can't he be Darren Sproles? I'll take that. Change of pace back. I went back and read some of interviews and he said he did have a chip on his shoulder for not getting invited to the combine. And he worked hard to turn some heads and impress at his pro day. I love that desire to compete. I am intrigued at the least.

Yes, definitely difficult to Grant that request

To this I Agree. Speed kills but he's a long shot if all other RBs play to their potential. Storm may be the one to relinquish his spot...
