Quote:Josh Norris was using EDGE all over rotoworld and twitter last year, and calling for others to do it too (which they did). It has been used more this year because it is a much better phrase to earmark players who's first role will be to get to the QB, but it's definitely not a this year thing and it doesn't mean tweener. I am noticing a lot of Brandon Phillips' on these boards, it's a shame. We need a lot more Joey Votto's around here. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Most recent McShay mock has us taking Fowler and Leonard falls all the way to #7.
He has Gurley going #6 to the Jets! Wow.
Quote:Most recent McShay mock has us taking Fowler and Leonard falls all the way to #7. Gotta change it up to keep people interested. Doubt he actually believes Gurley will go 6th.
Gurley at 6 is unheard of in this day and age.
Just curious ..... open question to all --- WOULD YOU TAKE ADRIAN PETERSON WITH THE #1 PICK THIS YEAR IF HE WERE JUST COMING OUT AND YOU KNEW HE'D HAVE AN IDENTICAL CAREER AS HE HAS HAD THUS FAR (including the suspension). Quote:Gurley at 6 is unheard of in this day and age. No. He hasn't transformed the franchise, whereas a franchise QB can.

Quote:No.He said this year. We already have Blake. I would definitely take AP #1 overall. Do people forget the year he carried the Vikings to the playoffs?
Quote:He said this year. Oh, I thought he meant would you take him if you were the Bucs (since they have the 1st pick this year). Yeah, I'd take him if at #3. But I also think he was a better prospect than Todd Gurley.

Quote:Oh, I thought he meant would you take him if you were the Bucs (since they have the 1st pick this year). Not by much

Quote:Not by much I disagree. Peterson is a significantly better prospect IMO, especially considering Gurley is coming off an ACL now. Gurley's quickness I think is average, whereas his top-end speed is good. It's not great, but good. For 230 lbs, that's still impressive though. Peterson was super fast AND quick AND big.

I mean if Trent Richardson was a top 10 pick recently, then there's no reason Gurley can't be if his knee is fine.
That being said, it's hard to justify taking a RB that early IMO simply because of the shelf life of the position. If you think this guy is AP 2.0, then that's about the only way you can justify it. You can find pro-bowl caliber RBs in rounds 2 and 3 so to pick a guy that high, he better be someone incredibly special. Quote:I'm starting to really think that Gurley will be a top 10 pick. You're not the only one: Quote:'Word on street' is Gurley will be top-10 pick

Quote:Oh, I thought he meant would you take him if you were the Bucs (since they have the 1st pick this year). Most people don't recall that AP was coming off of an injury as well. Actually I really did mean the #1 pick in the draft --- I should have clarified. Bottom line, independent of the personnel currently on the roster .... is AP worth a #1 pick in this years draft? If you were starting a franchise, would you take AP over the rest of the field in the draft? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Most people don't recall that AP was coming off of an injury as well. yeah, but his injury wasn't as severe as an ACL. I think he had a collarbone injury before coming out to the draft.. But yes, your general point stands, Peterson did have many injury issues in college.

Quote:Jaguars biggest need: a starAnd his name is Leonard Williams. I dont see how this team passes over what is universally agreed the best player in the draft or at worst the best defensive player for need. You don't keep gm jobs making those types of decisions. If he's there you gotta grab him and move on to round 2.
I wouldn't be surprised if Leonard Fournette is top 10 pick next yr either. LSU Rb
Quote:I wouldn't be surprised if Leonard Fournette is top 10 pick next yr either. LSU Rb i would be. he played very limited so far and was really inconsistent. if you wanna draft a guy just because of how he is built, then maybe...
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

LW not the best defensive player as far as needs are concerned either.
Quote:1. LW not universally agreed as the best player in the draft. Pretty much this. Leonard Williams is only the universally agreed upon best player in the draft to those that are in love with him. There are a lot of people who don't believe he is a top 5 player in the draft. |
