Quote:Notable cuts or free agents not to sign...

J. Todman- nothing special, upgradeable.

S. Johnson- see above.

C. Henne- draft a backup to develop.

S. Young- Wells develops a year and obsoletes Young.

J. McClendon- a liability when playing.

A. Sanders- ineffective returner and wide receiver.

C. Shorts- not worth the FA money with the 3 rookies.

W. Blackmon- vet now outplayed by rookies.

A. Ball- see above.

T. Alualu- just a guy to be replaced with someone with upside.

G. Smith- Telvin's play makes him expendable.

L. Reynolds- not taking a step forward this year.

C. Prosinski- can't believe he made it this year.

You keep S Johnson to see if he can develop into anything over the next season or 2.  Or see if he can contribute to ST.

Between Ball and Blackmon someone should be kept as depth.

You know depth is a real thing and something much needed. Prosinski is long gone broski.

Lol, ball and Blackmon were the main two that elicited my comment above. We must've posted at same time.

Cecil and Poz have to be gone. Other names include Sam Young, Marcedes and Geno Hayes. None have done anything this year to prove otherwise..

Good point - he's overpaid for his production by a large margin.

Good God, you guys want to cut half the team, and we don't even have any replacements yet!

Why can't we wait until we assemble a 90 man offseason roster, and then assemble a 53 man roster from that?

No, that would make too much sense.

And apparently the team is not going to have backups

Cecil Shorts:  Let him walk.  Gene's stench is all over him.  He will occasionally make a big play and then miss 3 more.  Tired of him coming up short

M. Lewis:  His salary is asinine to his production.  Cut him and use the Money for 2 good players or even a great one.  Bye

Poz:  I like poz but his age, his salary, and he is coming off a major injury does not make sense to keep him.  If he would restructure his deal then I would like to see him stay but don't know if he is willing.

C. Henne:  It scares me if bortles ever had to miss time we have to rely on this guy.  Cut him and draft a backup

Ace Sanders:  After his suspension he has played more like colonel sanders.  Cut him
For me Ace Sanders for sure should be out of here.  He hasnt done anything on the field to excite fans (actually the opposite with his return fumble botch plays).  He hasnt been good at WR this year, and then the off field drug abuse.

I'm shocked he's still on the team really..

I agree about Chad Henne, I get that he's a TOUGH guy as Gus calls it and he knows the playbook.. he doesnt turn the ball over and is a "game manager" as they say but what good is a game manager that cant get a 3rd down even 1/3 of the time?

He doesnt have the arm strength to make all the throws, and its not like he's this great mobile QB...

I mean in my opinion he's not worth 4 mil a year.

That's pretty much what my list looks like.  I was initially supportive of resigning Cecil, but that was before the last couple of weeks.  With Poz ending the season on IR, they'd have to do an injury settlement to cut him (I think) if he's not willing to restructure his contract.  I think that's what's going to happen if he won't restructure.  He's going to cost too much money next season and we got better play from that spot with Thomas anyways.

Unless Lewis took a huge pay cut they would be silly to resign him, Poz has proven himself worthy of staying he's the kind of player that will retire when he feels he has no gas in the tank & if nothing else he adds veteran knowledge & depth.

Chad Henne never shouldve been resigned, Ace Sanders shouldve been cut when he failed the drug test to make an example out of his performance is even worse than the average play from last season.

All the Tackles with the exception of Luke & Paztor should be cut (Paztor for depth & Luke out of hope he'll improve or can be traded).

Blackmon & Ball should be let go, address CB in the 1st round with Aaron Colvin starting on the other side, and Gratz & McCray fighting for nickle packages and depth.  Campbell should be cut he's not MmmMmm Good like the soup slogan.

Tyson Alualu is paid way too much to be just a guy, Chris Smith has shown to be way better at getting behind the lines and the team already has tons of depth at DT.  I expect this is Tyson's last year as a Jaguar (unless he takes a pay cut).

On the fence about Geno Hayes hoping he does well this last week, but he's just average at a position that the team really needs a great player to be at, but i could see him as depth not a starter.

Josh Evans and Martin can both go, they need to draft a FS in 2nd round if not bottom of the 1st (trade up).

I would think LB in the 3rd if not 2nd round.

I expect a free agency pick up for oline if not a few pick ups in the 4th to 7th rounds.  I am sure many fans would say OT in the 1st and 2nd, but the Defensive backs are so bad the team has to address it with the 1st and 2nd round.

What are you talking about!  Anyone that doesn't play like an upper echelon starter needs to be cut immedietly and replaced by that gem that's sitting home playing video games that no other team knows about except us!  This is why we need to listen to all the knee jerkers, they are brilliant!  And we don't worry about depth, thats just a word with no meaning!  Oh yeah, and we need to fire everyone after every bad game too.  Oh, and lose every game too so we get the top pick and automatically trade it to one of the teams lining up that want to trade away their future for that pick, then we can pick up every player we've ever needed and will be in the super bowl next year, and ESPN will say nice things about us and all will be right in the world.

I think Geno Hayes is gone.

I think Lewis MAY be cut, but no guarantees.

Shorts will walk.

Sanders will stick around through TC but may be cut there depending on the health/development/availability of guys like Lee, Hurns, Robinson, and Blackmon

Ball should and probably will stay as vet backup. He actually played OK before injury. Will Blackmon can go.

Henne isn't going anywhere. LOL

We need a vet backup that knows our stuff.

This role will not be filled with Ricky Stanzi or Jordan Palmer.

It will be Henne's. I think his play early this season safely landed him in the "Only team that wants you is the one you got" zone.

By default he will back up Bortles and he'll be out of the NFL after the 2015 season I bet.
