Let Bortles Be Bortles

Quote:Dwayne Bowe, are you serious?  Dude was over the hill years ago.  Hasn't caught a single TD pass all season.
Lol to be fair Smith hasn't thrown a single TD to any Chief WR.

He is captain check down.

And i'd put the majority of that blame on Bowe himself.  Bowe is not what he once was, at all.

Hurns>>>Bowe all day.

Quote:Peyton went about 12 games before he had a breakout dominant game. Andrew took about 8-9. Russel went 6 or 9 depending on how you look at it. Matt Ryan went a whole season without a "breakout game". Like I said that's not how you rate rookie qbs and everyone is different with different learning curves and situations.

I did some number crunching for you.

Through Peyton s first six games he had 1364 passing yards 14 ints and 6 tds. Blake has 1631 passing yards 13 ints and 8 tds. Blake has a way better completion percentage as well.

What you are asking for those guys never did their rookie year. Why on earth would you expect Blake to do that.

It makes me wonder how much football most of you guys have watched. He looks just like a rookie qb should look like.
Thanks for posting that up for people to see.  Anytime I get into a discussion about Bortles, I mention P. Manning's start.  Take Aikman for instance.  The Cowboys went 0-11 in games he started his rookie season.  In 11 starts he threw for 1749 yards with 9TD's and 18 INT's. Need patience with a rookie QB starting.

Oh OK, I would have liked to know the names of those guys he chasing though.

He really should have listed them in that article.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

The Oline is very poor, but if they can block for him long enough they should go deep more often especially early in the game...

Oline hasnt been very poor of late, at all.

I agree, but not with the words "at all."  They've had too many moments of poor protection.  Their run blocking has improved more than the pass pro., which still has a ways to go. Missing Linder will hurt.

Yes it will.  I've liked Linder ever since the draft.   I had never heard of him, but a buddy of mine is a huge canes fan and he insisted the guy was a gem.  Looks like he was right.

Hurns is good. When the ball is near him he snatches it like it's meant only for him. I heard some criticism that he waits and catches with his chest, which is not true when he is in traffic. He looks legit and IS a weapon much like Michael Irvin was. (must be the south fl. water)

Not so much with the others.. Robinson, so-so wideout, everyone else is below par. So overall, Bortles needs more. During the off season it looked like a loaded group of receivers, but Sanders, Lee, Shorts, Lewis have been busts and/or hurt. Denard is learning to be a running back, it's a bit much to expect him to also be a pass catching machine as well.

Bottom line, we need some tight ends and recievers that put fear into a D Coordinator, what looked good on paper is paper thin.

I think at this point I don't care if the team wins or loses, I just care about how Bortles plays.

We can suck today, tomorrow, whatever. However, if Bortles can play like we all hoped he would play, THAT is true hope.

...we'd have 3 wins.

I hope we see him take a step forward too.

Blake is throwing fastballs every pass, even when it's not needed. Frequently they are not on target as well.

I guess our wideouts are getting little seperation so he keeps firing too hard to keep from being picked off, with no touch on anything.

This cowboys game is really bad play by the qb, even no Interceptions.

Now would be the time a Good QB coach should settle him down.

geno smith part 2... we could have had carr or bridgewater

Why do the Jags even game plan?  IMO, they should have 5 pass plays and 5 running plays and that's the entire playbook.  Then just run those plays to perfection and work on fundamentals instead of game planning every week.  BB and the whole team needs to work on fundamentals.

Instead, we waste time game planning, and the team needs another couple off seasons to get the basics down?

How does that make sense?

Today's loss wasn't on Blake.

Funny how you have 2 accounts, one called Bortles4Life, and this one. See ya, troll.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Bortles will be fine. It is the coaching staff I am concerned with.

I'm concerned about the coaches as well.  So how will he be fine if the coaching staff is a problem?

Something tells me we will have new position coaches next year. As well as new coordinators.
