Do you want Bortles to succeed?

Even in Blakes best season, the jump from that to "this guy could lead a team to a superbowl" is enormous.

He's always shown us that he has a good feel for the pocket and for pressure despite consistently playing behind a poor pass blocking OL. He's shown us that he can scramble when needed to either pick up yards on the ground or throw on the run which he does as well as just about anyone. He even shown he can throw a strike while being contacted. He's shown he has the downfield vision and understanding of the game to dissect what's happening downfield in order to make the big plays (at least when his arm is not fatigued).  He's shown great leadership ability. He's shown plenty to think he can succeed with a little tightening up on his motion combined with a concerted effort to keep his arm healthy.

He hasnt shown a throwing motion that can throw underneath regularly, or get the ball out quickly when necessary

he hasnt shown accuracy

he hasnt shown good decision making

he hasnt shown the most important things needed to be successful, but hes shown us he can run and throw on the run. Thats great.

Now if he could just show us that he can consistently put one foot in front of the other, step into a his throw,  and turn his hips toward his target as he releases the ball.

Why in the name of all things holy couldn't he find a way to do that
with any remote degree of consistency in 2016 ??

It's a mystery - but he damn well better get it figured out while he's in California drinking Tom House's alkaline balanced water and kale smoothies or he's gonna' be out of a job.

Only in Jacksoville was it okay for players to blame the fans. In many other places that is finable and not professional.

Anyone who doesn't want Blake to SUCCEED is not a Jaguars fan, period.

Why wouldn't you want your own players to succeed? Makes no sense.

Because he wont be the starting qb.  No way no how.

Sorry a poll says otherwise.  And he turned on fans really fast.   And does not have that right.

I'm curious what exactly Blake said or did towards "fans" that has you so upset?

And I think you may be confused about his "rights."

Don't get me wrong - I want him to earn his spot on the depth chart and I want him to have competition - but he's definitely the favorite to be the starter in 2017 as things stand currently. For better or for worse.

Is this a trick question?

Umm...yeah, as long as he's wearing a Jags jersey, I want him to succeed.

Quote:I do not.  I am a true fan.  My reason he attacked the fans.   Just like Brunells  I believe the Jags should move to london quote.  Blakes attack on fans.  Is not being a PRO.

Once he learns to appologize for those comments.  Then I will support him changing.

I don't remember him attacking fans, he just referred to them being like kindergartners once when they questioned what was going on with the offense and had a few suggestions as to what could be done to help make it more productive.

Was there anything else?

Bortles will have to be a whole lot better in 2017 then he was last year if he wants to be the Jags starting QB in 2018, because I don't believe TC, or Marrone, will have the patience that the previous HC and decision makers had and they will be searching for a better option at QB.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Let me retract and rephraze. Of couse i want him to succeed. As long as remains on the Jags. However he needs to be less of a cry baby towards the fans.

I personally believe real competition will be brought in. And Blake will lose.

Once again Tom will not risk his legacy on Blake.

However the poll question asked does he deserve more chances?

My answer is no.

He is messing with all the receivers money and stats for future contract and for bonuses and has major accuracy issues.

No man. I totally want to see him crash and burn so we can invest yet another high quality draft pick at the same position once again for the third time in our franchise's history.

Of course I want him to succeed. I think 90% of the fan base with common sense and a brain would want him to succeed. In fact, I think the only people who would want him to fail are probably college die hard fanatics hoping to land their college team's QB here personally or they probably lost their girlfriend to him for one night after a visit out at the beach bars.

I agree. Except tom is far from dumb. And if a trade or FA becomes available that tom feels could beat out Blake. He will go that route.

Rookies normally dont produce well in year one. Of course guys like Prescott are the exception.

So I do not see the draft as a remote possibility. I see FA or a trade.

We are in a win now state of mind. Ya dont bring in superbowl winning coaches if the goal is to win in 5 years.

Nor can blake fix the footwork, throwing motion, and, mechanics all in one season.

Back to square one for Bortles.  If he doesn't improve dramatically next year, he doesn't have much of a future in the NFL, much less with the Jaguars.  I don't see his trade value being very high if he's the same guy next year.
