Gus Bradley's press conference

Quote:So you get a pass because Blake is panning out?

With a rookie qb playing at the level bortles is, there's no excuse for being this bad. The play of the rest of the roster is just awful.i think lack of talent is a fair assessment on the defensive side. I think scheme is more the issue on the offensive side of the ball. Only reason i can think of for the run game being so bad.

He's not getting a pass. He's getting time for his players to develop.

Quote:Chris Polian also could be a big contributor for the free agent signings. He's director of pro personnel.

Surround an elite QB with a pathetic team...... like father like son...

Quote:If our QB is the only real bright spot, that is a good problem to have from a GM perspective. Give Joeckel more time.

I have and still remain critical of Caldwell's free agency approach, but trust his draft picks.

So far looking at the last draft.  And yes, I know some may pan out with more time...

Jockel not worth a 1st round pick.  Whiffs and gets steamrolled too often.

Cyp is an average SS.  Decent against the run, late on pass coverage.

Gratz, benched.

Ace, probably OK for his draft position.

DROB, OK for his draft position.

Evans benched

Jeremy Harris who?

McCray TBD

So many of our lesser talented players get play time because the roster is so deplete of talent.

Which player in last year's draft is going to be a Pro-Bowler?

Quote:He can't fix everything by himself. The players have to do their jobs. Gus Bradley is figuring out what needs to be fixed every week.

He can't fix it all by himself, but there are certainly things he could do to make this team more competitive.

Quote:I would take any offensive guru at this point. Defense has been bad, but this team has had trouble scoring enough points FOR YEARS

It's easy to say "ANY OFFENSIVE GURU"  But who's out there?

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Quote:Especially when it's against bad teams. I dont put much stock in what gus has to say quite honestly. I dont think he knows how to manage a team.

Gus Bradley is yet another example of the Peter Principle at work.

Demetrius McCray is a 7th round pick who was pushed into the starting lineup and did not look overwhelmed. Has started the last few games and played well. That is a "TBD". But Joeckel is a bust. Ok.

But there's improvement...don't you remember the few wins last year against scrub teams?

Quote:Bortles is the only bright spot so far.  How about Beadles (scrub), Joeckel (bust) and on and on?

He is the brightest spot for sure, but some other players have shown flashes and just need to be more consistent.

He is learning we need to improve our clock management.

How can someone call a guy a bust 6.5 games into playing his natural position? Listen to yourselves...

Of course I am not saying that about Beadles and Gerhart.

When you watch Joeckel get put on his keester in every game.  Whiff far too often and miss assignments.  You don't have to call him a bust if you don't want to but he sucks right now.

No way dude. Everything in JeremyNFL world is black and white. Nothing in between boom or bust.

Why do you all sound like you did not watch the presser? It is impossible to watch all of it and think he is not taking responsibility for his own mistakes or trying to correct those made by players.

lol no guys...but for people to think the arrow is pointing up for this team (other than Bortles) is unfortunate.

The goal is to win a Super Bowl...Gus is not capable of coaching a team to that.  He can't even manage the clock, timeouts or challenges.  He hasn't developed players.

And I certainly don't think Caldwell has earned a long stay in J Ville just yet.  There's not 1 pro-bowler in his draft from last year.
