Aaron Colvin will play this season.
|
I seem to remember Caldwell answering a question about Colvin in the little press briefing he did after each draft selection. The question was about where he'd play. He said he'd compete to play ouside, IIRC. Anyone else remember that?
Just from his draft profile and that comment from Caldwell, I highly doubt he'd take over nickel from Blackmon. He'd probably have a shot to unseat Gratz or Ball. I doubt they rush him out there. Maybe he'll get a crack at it after the bye week when he may get some reps at practice. He also may just be seen as Ball's replacement next year. I keep wondering what's going on with McCray too. I remember seeing him flash all over the field last preseason but haven't seen much of him since. Quote:I remember that too. He may end up being solid depth or he may win one of those spots. For a small school seventh rounder - that a'int bad.
By the time he plays it would be over 9 months since his injury. Don't think that's rushing him back. He'll be ok. Just like Blake won't die behind this line. Some over cautious fans of this team man. Wanna bubble wrap every player on the team for some reason. Chill out.

Quote:So why did he call Mathis a great shutdown corner?Mathis was a shutdown Corner for about 3 years (say 05-07ish). And he may not quite have been Revis at his peak, but he was pretty dang good. Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! Media on the Brain Link! Quote:Peyton must store oxygen in that forehead of his. No way I'd still be alive after all that choking.
When the Jags had Stroud and Henderson, Mathis was a ball hawking interception machine.
Quote:He needs all of the rest and rehab he can get. Please dont rush him back.Agreed completely here. My gut tells me this is being considered primarily, if not exclusively, due to the awful struggles the secondary has had thus far. I think had the pass defense not been a dumpster fire, I think Colvin stays inactive until next year. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Adrian Peterson came back after 9 months, but that dude is the exception not the rule. We have depth enough behind Gratz and Ball that rushing him back doesn't accomplish anything. I hope he plays this year, but not if they're pushing his rehab. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
As far as the "rushing" is concerned. I'm sure having Ball, Gratz and McCray available will allow them to follow the doctor's guidelines and then some.
If one of those guys is hurt or under-performing by week 11 or so, then maybe they try to use him. I seriously doubt they'd "rush" him though. Quote:Standard rehab for a torn ACL in football is a year. Everybody's different. Adrian Peterson came back after 9 months, but that dude is the exception not the rule.My point is the doctors and the team wouldn't put him on the field if he wasn't fully healthy. They say he's running around like crazy and vertical jumping on tables at this point and he's still not eligible to return yet. If he's out there he's ready to go for sure. Because we have depth doesn't mean they're good. I'm not impressed by no one in the secondary right now. If he's better than the others get him out there.
Quote:It was not on every play he covered him but he still beat him. Don't get me wrong Lockett is awesomeEven Richard Sherman will get beat if a receiver gets as many targets as Lockett did that game, man.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

It's football, people get hurt. Why would I say play him and then whine if he gets hurt afterwards? You just like to hear yourself talk don't you? Quote:Where did they say this? I thought he was brought in to take Balls place, but now I'm not so sure. I just rewatched the Colts game and Luck only threw towards Ball twice. One was a screen that Ball blew up for a loss and the other was a touchdown from the one yard line. We need to pay him. We may need to pay him soon before it costs too much. Now I think he'll be better served competing with Will Blackmon.
Quote:I hope they don't rush him back. I wonder if he'll play special teams.Lol really rushing him back isn't a question, these people do this for a living.. And i highly doubt they drafted one of the best cb in college last year to play special teams seeing how weak our secondary has looked! |
