Ya had me until you said Toby would have 65 rushing yards.. Maybe if he were to get 60 carries.....

Ha.  Realistically - he'll need at least 16 carries to get that if he averages similarly to his performance vs the colts.  I doubt that will happen with D-Rob getting his touches and Bortles running as well. 

 

Interesting note however:  That trio of rushers (Gerhart/Robinson/Bortles) did in fact eclipse 100 yds on the ground last week. 

 

I think Rivers will throw for at least 350 yards however and the Jags won't be able to keep up.

I think Gerhart has a decent game this week. With Bortles in, the defense is going to have to fear the pass, unlike with Chabbert Henne under center, so I don't think they're going to stack the box and kill our run game.

Yeah, this is the real issue. We have little chance of slowing their passing game. Our only chance as I see it is to have a number of extended scoring possessions like we used to get with Garrard back in 2010 to keep their offense off the field. Maybe Bortles can make that happen but without an effective running game, I doubt it.

IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

San Diego is going to kick us around all over the field. It may or may not be a total blow-out though. I will say this, with Bortles throwing the football around. I am willing to bet that we score more than 21 points this Sunday. Just a gut feeling. He's a rookie, he's going to make some mistakes with the football. Personally, I don't care if he throws an INT here or an INT there. He's exciting to watch and he's showing more promise at the QB position that we haven't seen here in years. If we can just sustain an actual drive more consistently, and get something going on the ground early on. Maybe the defense will actually show up and play harder with a chance to breath on the sideline and behind the kid that hangs tough in the pocket and makes plays with his legs and arms down the field.

No running game and missed tackles have plaque'd this team. I think they (O-line and Linebackers) make strides this week though. I like our receivers vs their secondary. Blake is the X factor of course. He's gonna have make plays with his legs  to help our weak run game. Look for some zone read, screen passes early.

 

Final: 27-21 Jags if they remember how to tackle and can run the ball better. Big IF.

 

The more I think about it, this could be a trap game for SD. Don't know if they're statistically better but I honestly feared the offenses we've played the last 3 weeks more than this SD offense. Dwight Freeney has never been strong against the run and they have some injuries at LB. D-Rob, Toby and Blake should be able to exploit this. Gates is the big one for the defense. If we can stop him, I like our corners against these receivers. Especially if we're a little more aggressive i.e blitzing and more press man coverage

I really hope we can stop Gates, How we have been doing against TE's and how Gates did vs the seahawks, Call me a bit nervous. But I would love a win and we get to see Blake play a full game! I hope he does well and isnt getting sacked all the time.

there is no way we beat the chargers. They beat the Super Bowl champs who have a defense. we don't have a defense. It will be a huge blowout. this could be the team, and game were 60 points are scored on us. Biggest blowout ever in our franchiase history. We have no chance against sd. We haven't won in years on the west coast. oyr last west coast win was probbley what 20 years ago?
