Irish radio said he went into an Alaskan airport a few months ago and told officials the government was controlling his mind.

The problem with this story is that although you can transport your weapon on a flight, you CANNOT transport your ammunition. So where did he get the ammo?

This.

I have been wondering this since the beginning. They said he went to the bathroom to load his guns. Was the ammo already hidden in the bathroom?

Premeditated.

There's one of two ways.  Either he planted the ammo beforehand, or he was working with someone else.

The guy was is screwed up in the head.

I have been asking that question since this story broke.  Been busy today but has any news agency brought this up?

Have you seen some of the schleps working for the TSA these days? It's pretty bad. Not as bad as it was 16 years ago. I worked at Dulles airport in DC then, and literally 90% of the screeners then were muslim. Tough to figure out how those terrorists got onto those planes. I'm frankly surprised they didn't have more than box-cutters for weaponry.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Actually, you can carry ammo with you.

Quote:Ammunition

Ammunition is prohibited in carry-on baggage, but may be transported in checked baggage.

Firearm magazines and ammunition clips, whether loaded or empty, must be securely boxed or included within a hard-sided case containing an unloaded firearm. Read the requirements governing the transport of ammunition in checked baggage as defined by 49 CFR 175.10 (a)(8).

Small arms ammunition, including ammunition not exceeding .75 caliber and shotgun shells of any gauge, may be carried in the same hard-sided case as the firearm.

Clearly you're joking. The NRA has their hands up the rears of enough puppets in Congress to prevent this logical action from every taking place.

Not sure anything related to flying with a firearm and ammo gets changed or needs to be. What's to stop anyone from walking into the airport with a loaded weapon? This wasn't in the gate area behind TSA security checks. Sick people will find a way no matter the rules.

Even worse, a suicide bomber could easily walk up to a TSA checkpoint where a thousand people are waiting in line.

We need to adopt the Israeli airport security methods. Our airports are highly vulnerable and this incident is not even a fraction of what it could be. As Americans we put too much stock in paid, touchy-feely positions like TSA.
