Should Trade for AJ Mccarron

Quote:One good drive isn't evidence a player is good or could lead a team. Bortles has just as many game winning drives yet you think he's garbage.Again, I didnt say that single drive was evidence of how he would play for his entire career, youre the only one here implying that. You said he folded in a must win situation. You said you came to this conclusion in your analysis using your eyes. Im merely pointing out that this is incorrect and that you either didnt watch the game or you have a very weird set of eyes. Quote:I didnt say that one drive made him worth it. The running game didnt carry him either lol, they had 78 yards total rushing and the game ended on a jeremy hill fumble. What has he done well other then not turn the ball over? What has he done that's worth a pick in the top 3 rounds? Quote:What's that have to do with this thread? You're just about as bad as MJF derailing threads. Um, this thread is a QB thread. Dave is not trading for a QB to start over Blake. How is that derailing a thread. Keep pushing your agenda
Quote:Does anyone really believe Caldwell when he said the new HC doesnt have to start Blake lol, yea okkkkk dave.Yeah i dont either lol. I feel like the only way Dave would actually go in a different direction is if every coach that walked into the interviews said they hated him. But why not discuss another scenario just for kicks. Quote:What has he done well other then not turn the ball over? What has he done that's worth a pick in the top 3 rounds? Not turning the ball over is kind of important, idk if watching Blake so much has made you forget that. He hasnt done much to equate his worth to a second round pick but thats the nature of supply and demand, and the demand for quarterbacks is high. You have to pay to play. Quote:Again, I didnt say that single drive was evidence of how he would play for his entire career, youre the only one here implying that.Umm... actually you did. I`ve used all of his games to point out hes nothing more then a run of the mill game manager and you brought up one drive that he dinked and dunked in for a TD to A.J. Green. The only thing you`ve brought up for why hes good is this one drive that`s it, that literally been your only argument against what was otherwise a garbage performance in that game. I saw all of McCarron's starts for Cinci and he showed more in his one playoff start than Dalton has in his four. I personally think he's better than some of you guys do and he pulled that playoff game out of his [BLEEP] before Hill bumbled and fumbled it away. I think the knock on him is that he has a run-of-the-mill arm and that's why no one was all that excited about him coming out of Alabama or since.
I don't think we're bringing in someone to challenge Bortles who has questions about his throwing ability. There are enough questions about #5 without adding more of the same Quote:Not turning the ball over is kind of important, idk if watching Blake so much has made you forget that. Green. The only thing you`ve brought up for why hes good is this one drive that`s it, that literally been your only argument against what was otherwise a garbage performance in that game. This is just flat out wrong. Let me explain this again because i guess the last post wasnt clear enough. Ill even chop it up so you can take breaks between all that reading. *You said your analysis included an eye test, and you implied you watched him play* *As part of your analysis, you claimed that as soon as a team forced him to throw to win he folded* *I presented you with a drive in which AJ threw to win, meaning your analysis of him folding when needing to throw was objectively wrong* *Not once did i state or imply that this was an especially impressive drive, just one that refuted your claim that he folded when needing to throw to win* *not once did i state that this drive was the sole evidence of AJ being a worthwhile option for us* *literally the only reason i brought up that drive was to point out that an aspect of your reasoning was wrong. Nothing more* is this clear enough?
Quote:Its also something you can find in an game manager to which there will be plenty of in free agency and not cost us picks.http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/quarterback/ Heres the list of FA QBs, which one of those do you think doesnt have enough playing time under their belt for us to come to the conclusion that they arent very good at all and arent worth any money? Matt Barkley is pretty much the only one there that has evidence he might actually develop into something one day and Landry Jones hasnt played much. Everyone else has enough starts for us to reasonably decide theyre not actual options. So theyre not comparable in any way to AJ, since AJ is a more limited sample size. If the basis is purely on not turning it over sure Case keenum works but do you actually think signing case keenum makes any sense to sign? Of course not. Quote:This is just flat out wrong. Let me explain this again because i guess the last post wasnt clear enough. Ill even chop it up so you can take breaks between all that reading. And like I said I fail to see how one drive proves me wrong that he was garbage in that game. He completed 56% of his passes for 212 yards (half of those came on 2 drives) for an Avg of 5.2 yards 1 TD and INT and 3 fumbles one lost. If Bortles had a game like that you would lose it even if he won the game.

Quote:You realize you literally make my argument for me here right? Matt Barkley will cost us nothing and probably has more upside.theres not much to suggest who has more upside, id say its equal. You said theres *plenty* of options in FA, weve found *one* who might not even hit the market, and might not even want to sign here. So really we dont have much to go on with this either. |
