Hurns to open season as the WR3

Quote:because there was no point in 2012 when blackmon wasnt on the field to go from.

but in 2013 when blackmon missed games, the YPC was exactly the same. those are called facts. you can skew it however you want.

LOL, the only one skewing here is you. Laughing

I'm citing the entire total of YPC (2012 and 2013 combined) with and without Blackmon and you're trying to cite "3 games" for your side of the argument.

A thread about Hurns starting out as the 3rd WR becomes more agenda whoring by the diva.  Go figure.

what was shorts YPC when blackmon wasnt on the field in 2012?

Quote:Yes, because history tells us that rookie receivers always hit the ground running and become statistical studs right away.

In recent NFL history theres been more of that than in the past due to the rule changes favoring passing.

And.....talent is talent, those 3 possess more talent than Shorts. They have better hands, more speed, seem to be more fluid athletes, and are more explosive.

History still skews on the side of rookies hitting a wall.  Even some of the more talented rookies hit the wall.

I'm talking up Hurns here. You're the one arguing that Shorts is better.

I'm the one that spoke that Hurns should be starting early in this thread.

Purple Haze is the one that initiated the Shorts argument in this thread by the way, LIAR. Go back and look. Thats the genesis of the Shorts back & forth in this thread.

You always do this, blindly blame me, when its often others that initiate tangents in threads.

For the record I see nothing wrong with what P Haze said or have a problem with his tangent. Just tired of FBT blaming me for everything.

Initiating, and dragging it out are two different things, princess.

I'm not arguing.  It's fact.  Hurns has yet to play a single NFL snap.  There's nothing to debate.

And neither has Bortles, yet that doesn't stop you, I, or anyone else from clearly seeing that Bortles has more talent than Henne (and many other QB).

Just like here, in that same eye test, Hurns > Shorts.

I know this makes you and a few others upset.

Yes, clearly we would all be upset if Hurns ends up better than Shorts.

Please don't act like this fan base has something against Hurns.  The guy who every single person has been praising since OTAs.

You didn't discover Allen Hurns chachi.

I never ever stated I discovered Hurns. I didn't expect him to make this fast of an impression when we added him as a FA. At that point, I figured his season last year in Miami was somewhat fluky.

I'm just one of the few that quickly see/ willing to acknowledge that he's good enough right now to start as one of the 2 outside WR's.

Others are stuck in Shorts'ville.

What does it matter if he starts or not.

You are acting like he won't be playing in "2 WR sets."

My guess is Hurns and Lee will probably the same number of plays.  With Shorts most likely playing the most out of all of them.

Wait... so Hurns is a better receiver than Shorts?

I'd love to see some some facts that back that up.

LoL

I think Hurns has the potential to be our best receiver.

Let's leave it at that for now?

Oh, so responding to others is dragging it out. Gotcha.

I think Hurns starting out at the 3 is a good decision, he's going to see the field  a lot even as the 3rd guy because we run quite a few 3-wide sets and he's earned it through his preseason play. Ideally he keeps it up throughout the regular season.

Im not sold yet. A few good games in preseason and he should be at the top of the depth chart? I like Hurns but he won't even be at 3 long now that A Robs back. But but I know Hurns>>> shorts lol..
