Noles 2014 outlook

Quote:It's bad PR for the Noles if they decide to sue, imo.  They had Darnell Dockett illegally try to hurt someone in a game (I know it was a while ago, but he still did it) and knocked the guy out for a while.  To turn around and sue someone for a similar thing seems self rightout to me.

Do I think that guy may have been able to hurt intentionally, yes....do I think as a whole the group was doing it, not so sure.  If you work every day at cutting guys, you are going to become pretty good at it.  They were just doing their job.  Jimbo was right, and I'm guessing you wont see an option team on their schedule for a while.  Same as many other major colleges.  I'm hoping with the way college football is going these types of games will happen less and less.

They weren't just doing their job.  The guy plain as day said they were trying to hurt FSU players.  That's not "just doing their job"...  I'm not talking about what Docket did in 2001 also which he denied trying to illegally hurt the guy.  There is no denying it here.  The guy admitted it to the world.

Quote:No one has argued that.

Also one d-lineman was hurt because of a pile, not being cut.

And the other 2?

I'm not sure what this has to do with intentionally hurting players on the football field.

Quote:The Citadel's past speaks for itself, this is a huge outlier. Same can't be said for FSU

We aren't talking about their past.

Quote:Piggy backing off Trav's comment, he did comment that he was proud of how they played before the post about the intent to hurt was posted.  Despite that, we all expected a much bigger deficit than actually happened.  For a game like this, thats all those teams can hope for.

And?  That makes it better?

I'm more concerned with how we do against clemson in two weeks.  These games don't matter unless the other team is trying to intentionally hurt your players and knock 3 dlinemen out...  So I guess this one did matter.

UPDATE ON VICTOR HILL and official statement from Coach Mike Houston...

Victor Hill is suspended indefinitely from The Citadel Football program for violations of stated team rules.

“I am very disappointed in the words chosen by Victor Hill, who is a member of The Citadel Football program. After speaking at length on multiple occasions with Victor and careful review of video footage of our game from this past Saturday night I have found no purposeful intent to injure from Victor or any other member of our football program. In the past 8 months that I have been the Head Football Coach at The Citadel I have observed Victor up to this point to be a morally good person. I do not condone his statement or what was implied by his words. I and the coaches in our program teach the great game of football to be played within the rules and will never condone anyone who is trying to purposefully injure an opponent.”
