Anyone Else Starting To Think Lee Might Bust?

#61

i think allen hurns knowing fisch's system has been a big help for him

lee's niggling injury in camp has hurt his development as it will with robinson

blackmon took about 8 games to get it going, so i'll start raising an eyebrow then, just one eyebrow

next year i'll raise two

one year in at midseason if he shows nothing then i'll start to worry

You're probably basing that observation on Hurns' production versus Lee. In reality that's unjust as Burns is more familiar with Fisch's offense considering he played college ball at the U.

Good point about Hurns knowing the system.

Justin Blackmon thru 1st 3 regular season games his rookie year:

4 catches...31 yards....0TDs

Lee thru 3 preseason games his rookie year:

7 catches....37 yards...1TDs

I'd say we label him a bust

Marqise Lee will be good. He's playing in his rookie year, preseason. My personal thought on what could be a attributed to his slow start is that Henne doesn't take shots. Bortles will.

idc if lee doesnt even start or get 600 yards his rookie year. That will still be too early to call him a bust

Why does replies to this type of thread have to automatically be what they were? Oh thats right because this fan base is largely ultra sensitive regarding its players.

Theres nothing wrong with the question Dakota brought in the OP.

Lee has not been the same player since his knee injury.

keep repeating it in hopes that he busts so you can say you were right.

what about him hasnt been the same? his impressive vert and broad jump at the combine? the way he looks explosive in and out of the cuts and breaks in his routes? the fact that he is a rookie and rookie wide receivers seldom make big impacts their first year? the fact that its preseason and him not getting a lot of targets doesnt mean anything yet? the fact that reports were he looked great in camp?

im just curious how he "hasnt been the same" because he is showing no ill effects of the knee injury and it appears its just a matter of time before he breaks out but keep up with the schtick. we all know you come here just because you want attention, not because you love the jags.

Not to mention the fact that he's missed lots of time this offseason (like most of our WRs) with injuries.

Is it coincidence that the WR who hasn't missed anytime the offseason (Hurns) and has history with the Offensive Coordinator's playbook has been the most productive?

Quote:No. It was a question.

There are 2 answers to the question.

A - Yes, the thought has crossed my mind that Lee might not be any good.

B -  No, the thought that Lee might not be any good has never crossed my mind.

Personally, I really don't care.

I do appreciate the random responses from the yahoos and knuckleheads though. It does entertain me to a degree.

Of course the thought has crossed my mind.  It crosses my mind about every pick.  You phrased your title and OP in a very odd way...

I'm not gonna say he's a bust because it's obviously way too early...but I did say right after the draft that I would've been much happier with a duo of Robinson and Latimer or Adams. I stand by that statement even more strongly now.

I will give you that.  In all honesty, it wasn't intentional, and I may have chosen a different way to convey it, but then I would have missed out on all the cool replies.

I think one said for me to go sober up. I especially got a kick out of that one. Nevertheless, it got people talking. It wasn't all worth reading, but at least they're talking. Smile

To be fair, not sure how much Lee has played with Bortles.

I think we just haven't yet found a good role for him yet

LOL, combine stuff....

I look at how he actually has played and produced in games on the field since said knee injury. You claim he still has the same explosiveness. I don't see it. Not by a longshot.

Got it. So before 1 NFL snap.... Lee is a bust and not the same since the injury and Janis is a stud world beater. Thanks for the heads up. You're so smart.

I bet he magically starts looking better when Bortles throws the ball to him more

how explosive was justin blackmon in his first 8 or so games?

and by your reckoning blackmon has more talent than lee will or has ever had... not arguing with that.... but give the guy a chance

from the sounds of it he is having strugglings deciding routes against nfl cornors which is hampering him somewhat, that can only come with experience, if we can start getting him open on some deeper routes we will start seeing the explosiveness but on a 2 yard crossing route with defenders closing he is hardly going to light it up
