Possibly the biggest game in recent history?

Bortles at least didn't throw another INT, but he's lost yet another game he threw for 300+ yards in.

To be fair, this wasn't about garbage time. This was about missed field goals drops and a d that got SHREDDED in the second half!!!

Quote:Definitely not. The highest spot gives you the best possible chance to land your highest ranked player and gives you the best chance to trade down too.

Sorry, but not all drafts are created equal, and this one has the potential to rival 2013 for shallowness. Being higher in the draft doesn't help this team where it's needed. Hopefully they trade down, but that's not even a given looking at the draft right now.

I agree, Bortles played well enough to win, the coaching was bad and the defense went to sleep at halftime until Malik woke up to get a couple of sacks to try to seal the win.

Just noting that it will go on the stats sheet as if it were in any way meaningful about his play, when in reality I don't think it was.

On a slight tangent he still needs to work on his mechanics and keeping the ball up at his shoulder so that he hopefully doesn't get strip/sacked as often. Sacks are bad enough, having the ball knocked out is even worse.

Quote:I think we can stop talking about removing the interim tag now. When you blow a game you lead for 59:51, and you get as tight as hey didnwith the play calling at the end of the game, you're not the answer. The entire staff needs to go tomorrow.
I agree.

And it's just one more dissappointment

Lame call to punt it on 4th and 1 when the clots were gaining momentum.

Lame play calling after the blocked punt.

Lame soft zone ice cream defense to close out the game.

This was his audition to be the Head Coach and he failed. He tried to act like he knows about winning, but he showed his true colors today. Called the game like he was scared to lose instead of going for the win.

We don't need another coward as head coach. Hard pass on him. Don't even give him an interview.

Not sure why everyone wanted him after last week. It's normal for a team to do well the frist game after a coaching change then fall right back in to old habits the next game.

As someone else suggested he may have been told to "take it easy" in the second half to preserve draft position.

Realistically it didn't matter what happened today, you were starting at least 1 "X is trash" thread after it was over.

Hard not to agree with this sentiment.  I don't know what it is about the Colts when they play us.  This is multiple games where they surged in the second half while we tried to ride it out.

For 2017, we need a coach that will have a plan for destroying our division.

Taking a break from your usual post of "[player] is trash" to switch it out to "[coach] is trash"? Careful you don't strain yourself from all the originality there Jerrad.

Winning today makes the job look better to possibly coaches. The only way what your saying makes since would be if they already decided Marrone was the guy, which would be dumb of the team with having only talked to Coughlin.

I hope you ride your bicycle and get a splinter from your wooden shoes today.

This is a good draft in multiple spots. Being higher gives you a better chance to get the guy you want in every round. 1>2>3>4>5. Simple.

While trading down might be a good option in this draft. Its still better to be as high as possible in order to pick the best player on your board.

A guy coaching for another gig here or elsewhere is going to "take it easy" in the second half upon suggestion by the GM?  Unless they promised him the gig already, that is highly doubtful that he would do anything but laugh off such a suggestion.

Did that same person tell them to "take it easy" for the entire season, because that's also what it looked like?

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
